I bought a new black over black (red interior) Cyclone in the spring of '70... new car for the wife. She bent a pushrod THE FIRST DAY racing somebody at a stoplight! Had a 351-C 4V... neat car.

VIN #'s started in 1969...

Not many were built for civilian use during the war so they are pretty rare.

Ford finally stated using them in their post-war buggy spring cars to improve the handling in the face of competition from the IFS cars from GM, MOPAR and others...

The show is in the history books... 160 cars traditonal rods and customs along with a few "others" who got in... The bands were great... The Trashmen kicked ass... Same date next year.... now the planning starts all over again.

Does it have a serial number or body tag?

Put a MOPAR torsion bar front end under it...available from Dwight Bond in Gibbon, NE. Bolts on, rides great and is inexpensive. If you don't want a Ford engine at least put something in with some power.....;)

You only have a serial number... vin numbers came about in 1969. The chassis number is the serial number in most states....

Keep what you have unless it breaks... then fix it....really. Why go thru all that work for very little gain?
