Towel City Retread Co. Anyone Running Their Rubber?

I have the Towel City front runners on my truck, unfortunately it doesn't run yet so I can't tell ya how well they drive, but they do appear to be well made. I have Hurst pie crust slicks on the back and I won't buy them again. One balanced out ok but the other called for 12 oz of weight. Once I...

    Perfect 46 Chevy truck

I think the length of the front end is where the proportions game is won or lost on these trucks. Of course, it all depends on your liking. I used a spring-behind front end on my truck which pushed the front out a little further than I anticipated, but I like where it landed.

Thank you Sir. It's down to a bare chassis. Baby steps forward.

Thanks guys! Every time I drive my truck, all of those holes are gonna make it sound like an empty bottle flying through the air.

Thank you Gentlemen, I appreciate it. It's been a while since I've been here and even longer since I've posted. I am still chipping away at the '40. Since the last post, I've been designing, head-scratching, fabbing, painting parts and lately I've been disassembling and getting ready for...

Thank you Sir! It's getting so close to driving. A little more work still.

Wow time flies! Been pluggin' away on the truck. I couldn't find a brake pedal set up that I liked so I made one. I mounted the gas pedal and brake pedal to an 1/8" plate, then bolted it to the firewall. Of course, the firewall was too flimsy so I added a 1" x 1" crossmember under/behind the...

Cutting sheet metal with jig saw

I chopped my cab with only a Bosch jig saw and a DeWalt porta-band. Worked like a champ. Use quality metal blades, clamp your material and you'll find an rpm that works well for your setup. I've cut a ton of 16 and 18 gauge with no problems. One plus is with a nice blade (Bosch) the cut will...

    63 Nova

Agreed. The bolt-on suspension options for Novas has really sky rocketed in the last few years. Heidts, Chris Alston and Detroit Speed (to name a few) make some really nice front clips and a few companies offer some really nice bolt-on rear options too. You can really get them to handle for a...

    The 40G

Thank you very much guys, I appreciate it. I am so glad the proportions and stance came out so well...that is one of my biggest pet peeves! There are a couple of things I need to adjust, one being the tie rod. Unfortunately, I can't see a way to get the tie rod behind the axle. I haven't studied...
