Bracket issues Dont build it yourself....although you could....GM hired some great engineers. Look in junkyards for an engineered bracket or buy a setup from Alan Grove. He makes great stuff, relatively inexpensive. Just Google his name.

Engine selection time... should I go tried and true, or something a little different

Why bother? I don't know about you....money is tight but my timeis valuable also! I would sell that V8 as it will break your driveline. You have gotten good advice on here about a Toyota driveline or a Ranger/Pinto engine. I would listen to that advice unless you like endless wrenching and...

    Self Locking Nuts

Nylocks Be careful using them in an application that sees heat.....heat weakens them and they can fail

    Leaf spring eye bushings

Bolt size 7/16" is not a problem with the proper grade bolt and nut, if you thin out the bushing too much the bushing will deflect, crush and fail. I would use the smaller bolt, you aren't drag racing on slicks or hitting the spring with 700 horsepower are you?

how to sub frame 36 chevy sedan

Subframe They can be a lot of work....crossmembers in the wrong place, too wide, too narrow ......go with an engineered piece from Fatman Fabrications, make it easier on yourself, easier for you to resell with an engineered part up front. This is an important piece of your ride, do it right

Where can I get these parts?

Suspension parts I would stay away from anything Chinese in my front end, their grading process for critical hardware is nothing I would stake my life on! Be safe, ask questions!
