Thanks White! I'm really trying to step my game a bit on this build. I've had a few of these ideas rattling around in my head for awhile, now I'm finally getting it done. There's alot more trick stuff coming, stay tuned:)

Thanks sgt! I'm on a mission to build one of the most technical rats out there. I just decided the other day that i'm running copper tube everywhere that i can, including all of the tubing for the turbo. I think it'll be badass to see 2 1/2" and 3" copper tubing wrapping around the motor!!

bag info Thanks for the info on the bags. I never knew the degree tolerances of airbags. The cross member that the bag bolts to was temporary. I was seeing how close to horizontal i could get the bags, and it turned out that i can keep them perfectly horizontal thankfully. It really gives it a...

it lifts! The front works, although my temporary cross member is back a little too far to get full lift. I also have to work out keeping the front bags straight, instead of pie shaping like they are now. This won't be a problem at all though. Just gotta keep my motivation up. 4 months of non...

front cantilever So i got my front crossmember welded together today. I still have to work out how im going to mount it though. Now that i have all of this flat plate throughout the front, the rear is feeling kind of boring to me. So i guess I'm gonna make my trailing arms in the same fashion...

front cantilever I've been a Minitrucker for a long time, and the evolution of minitruck suspensions moves quickly. I've been designing frames/suspensions for about 14 years, from static to over-the-top. With that being said, i would buy Minitruckn, Truckn, and Street Trucks magazines and get...

front cantilever I finally got to the point where i need to mount the front bags. I'm starting by making all of the bag plates. After they're cleaned up a little bit i think they'll be clean, functional brackets. Also I'm adding a picture of what the front suspension looks like up.

front cantilever I still have to make a crossmember for the bags and mount the bags to the push arm, but using the forklift i could run it through its motion. It seems to work perfectly, although it gets a couple less inches of lift than i anticipated. No big deal though, it still lifts over 12".

front cantilever I've been pretty busy over the last two weeks, but was still able to figure out the front, and now I've got it just about wrapped up.

This roughly the position that the bags will be sitting in.

front cantilever It's been a few days since i posted, and needed a 5 minute break, so i figured I'd post a "in progress" pic. I came up with what i feel (after a ton of research) is a completely original front cantilever suspension. It's in a very early stage, but with come together somewhat...

front axle It's out of a '49 Dodge truck. It wouldn't have been my first choice, but as with any rat, i was trying to keep the cost down. I really would like to convert it to disc brakes, but I'm having a difficult time finding a conversion kit. If anyone can steer me in the right direction, it...

I am doing right hand drive. As for the slip, I'll find a small diameter spline. Tractor supply stores tend to be a good resource. If i can't find one there I'll have one machined. I'm also going to "step down" the steering at the firewall so my steering shaft can be parallel with the ground...

front end Got the front all bolted up. Now it's time to make a front cantilever setup, fun fun!

front end I still have to make the bottom mounts and gussets at this point, but it is mounted:)

front end work You're right Tim, i do have poly bushings. They are everywhere except where the rear leverage bars mount to the bottom trailing arms and to the bags(i dont think the bag mounted ones will cause any noise or roughness), and ofcourse the heim endes. The air ride will help to smooth...

building the front end Here are some pics from last night. I finally got my radius arms back from having having the end that mounts to the frame tapped. Nothing too exciting at this point, but now i can start building the front cantilever bars and crossmembers. I have a rough idea in my head...

more on the rear I got all of my bag stabilizer bars on and the temporary plates off. It looks so much more robotic looking now i think. Hopefully the machine shop has the last two holes tapped on the radius arms today so i can start making the cantilever bars for the front.

Hopefully i'll learn to like the right hand drive. I've always wanted something rhd, so i figured this was the one to make it happen.

'39 CORPO, your truck is super sick! I love your bracket work! As for the limo I'm keeping it top secret until i get it to a certain point. All I'm saying is that it'll have independent suspension all the way around, and a twin turbo Toyota Supra engine. I got one side of my airbag stabilizer...
