    Possible new build

The guy wanted crazy money for the econos - 3k each, non running, rusted out. The 49 ford pickup was fairly reasonable (700), but no motor, transmission, interior or title.

Ironrat - no 59 olds, sorry. Found some other goodies down in the weeds: Econoline pickup vans, some gremlins, some javelins, a horde (like 10+) of pinto's, some nash's and a couple other possible parts (1970 buick electra 4door with 350 and tranny being the most notable)

    Possible new build

Ironrat - never made it over Tuesday, too busy at work to take a lunch. I'll try again today. Rust is the issue, as everything I've read says these cars were lacking in that area. I'll try to see if I can get some other pics while I'm over there. There is a 49 Ford pickup I was going to see...

    Possible new build

That's my fear, I'll get under the car and see cancer all over it. Would certainly be a fun cruiser, but not worth it if rusted out.

I'll take a look Tuesday during lunch for you Ironrat. I also spied this through the weeds. Too far away to see anything clearly, but the hump of the roof.

    Possible new build

So out and about today I spied this guy sitting at a salvage yard. Looks like a 58 or 59 Rambler Ambassador Super. Decent body, but without looking underneath, who knows. The salvage yard is closed till Tuesday, so I'll have to wait to see. Also saw some Edsels and other oldies. Too far...

Any downside to using a truck frame other than size?

Thanks all for the input. (Sorry for late reply, just finished up 10 days in a row for work) I understand the idea for cab first, then frame, however, I'm leaning toward a truck cab anyway, and would probably need the bigger size of the chevy frame. Much to ponder and doodle on paper before...

Any downside to using a truck frame other than size?

I can get a titled 1973 C20 3/4 ton truck for very, very cheap. Engine is a blown(Looks like block is cracked) 350, otherwise it is complete. I'm guessing that if I picked that up to use I probably couldn't: 1) Lower it all that much 2) Have to cut the frame to fit the top/cab/whatever would...

    Howdy

No tail lights yet.... I'm dreading removing the bumper to do so.

Hey folks, I found your site through a search on the internet. Lovely place, and I even like the color. Love the ratrod vibe , the personality of the cars to the owners, and the only style is your own. I'm kind of stuck in a holding pattern, as I'm not sure if I'll be moving in a couple...
