    Portland Or. and Longview Wa.

Just returned from my first trip across the border into the US with the Hennway after driving it around BC for 17 years. Went to the Wednesday meet at Portland Raceway and to a show in Longview Wa. Nice to go to a place where you've not seen one of the cars! The nice 27 T belongs to my fiance JoAnn.

    The HAMB strikes again

Guess it was inevitable, the powers that be pulled my Gasser Packard from the traditional builds forum and moved it to "Projects", a category that I can't even find on their site. What is traditional?? Recreating the same old thing endlessly? I guess if you're not building the bazillionth Model...

Midnight at the Oasis Yuma AZ

A few of the 800+ vehicles that attended the Midnight at the oasis show in Yuma this weekend. A nifty Graham phantom pickup, cool Diamond T, twin turbski pickup, Wes Ridells' very cool 40 Chev, created from a 4dr, a vintage dragster and a supercabbed 40 Ford.

    1965 IHC Scout

Look what followed me home today  My Packard friend is thinning out his herd of Cornbinders to move, so I rescued this 65 Scout for a future build. It's actually pretty rust free, originally from Oregon. At this point my plan is to build it after the Packard Gasser, make it a ground...

    WestCoaster Daze White Rock B.C.

Some pics from the Westcoasters car show in White Rock BC, about 400 cars, some of the ones that caught my eye... Doesn't show too good in the pic of the flock of WWII flatfender Jeeps, those guys had some amazing gear to go with them, 3 also had the dual rear tires, a field modification for the...

    Mystery transfer case

I inherited this tranny and transfer case with the Packard stuff, came with bellhousing, flywheel etc to fit SB Ford, I appears to be a Ford toploader 4spd with a Hurst shifter. The transfer case says Spicer on the back, looks like it may have had an OD unit on it at one time. Is it from a...

    Hercules

So after spending time in Arizona this winter for the first time in 3 yrs, I found it disturbing to not have a rod to drive there - whirring around the Fossil Farm in the golf cart just isn't cutting it anymore.... In the spirit of Bob W, who always has 4 or more projects on the go (My...

    Neat old stuff

Ever seen one of these? It's from an old welder, Hercules Power. No idea of how old it is but I thought it was kool so it came home with me. Rat rod worthy I think, about Model A size. Took out the rad and scrubbed it a bit to see the embossed logo. "The Mighty Hercules!" :D

Second Wind - a Packard Gasser

Here I go again, the last one isn't even out the door but I've been collecting parts and making plans for another 37 Packard coupe. The pics of the body are 4 yrs old so it may look worse by now, sitting in a drippy shed, you can see the body of the one I just finished sitting in front of it...

    White Post Swap Meet

Swap meet at the White Post Auto Museum in Tappen B.C. If you've seen the Rust Valley Restorers show, it's at the entrance to the driveway to the Rust Bros. shop. Usual swap meet junk, more of a social event but there were some interesting (to me anyways) rides - hearses seemed to hang around...

Give your hot rod some lovin'

So lately the Hennway has been running like a turd, sputtering, occasionally backfiring, etc. After going through denial, blaming the machine, etc., it occurred to me that I haven't put a wrench to it since I built it 15 years ago, other than oil changes. 15 years on the same plugs, wires and...

    Wiper ideas

Looking for the best wiper setup to use in the 37 Packard. Nobody makes a specific kit of course.. I'm turned off with the cable drive universal kits like SPW, they are just too weak to move the wipers once it's all assembled, the tension of the wiper blades against the window causes the...
