    Cheapest MIG on Ebay

Their MiG 250 is the same basic machine by the specs. The manual for mine covers the MiG 250 as well. It is listed to take 10lb spools. But for sure an external roll could be made to work. I only use it for spot welding sheet metal. So idk about a continuous weld. But I have not had it shut...

    Cheapest MIG on Ebay

I figured I couldn’t loose at this price. If it works for 2.5 days it pays for rentals. Not that I’d ever rent a welder. $60 a day is what it costs. The old Neiko that people told me was worthless still actually works after 10+ years.. actually today while taking the Neiko off the cart, the...

    Cheapest MIG on Ebay

After I deemed my Mig welder unrepairable by myself ( not good at soldering circuit boards ) I ordered this welder. It’s the Hitbox MT2000 II. It’s a multiprocess welder. Does stick, Mig. Flux core and lift tig ( tig torch isn’t included ). I paid $138 for it. Of course NY tax brought it up to...

Rear end for Model A with transverse spring.

Ive considered spacers in case I need more width. I’m thinking I want a taller tire. Would running an LT range E tire on the rear work okay? Considering a dually size is why, with an 80 aspect ratio

    My MIG has issues

When I learned to stick weld by trial and error when I was 16. My dad told me to go out, soak some of his rods and turn up the welder all the way ( Century 110v buzz box so 100 amps or so. Cant remember ) and burn the top out of a 55 gallon drum. I had never welded before that day. I ended up...

Did you ever swipe the parent's car?

My brother did once. He’s older than me so I knew to never try

    My MIG has issues

I always keep my rods in a storage box. When I built the original frame I was using 7018AC and they got damp so I had to get more. I probably still have the damp ones somewhere. I didn’t have an oven then. I still don’t but I think a thrift store toaster oven will work fine. 200* for a couple...

    Title ?

I used to play around with Japanese import cars. Getting them titled used to be a PIA. I used to go to 2-3 DMVs before I found one that would run the paperwork.

    My MIG has issues

I’m actually going to buy a toaster oven. Set for 200* and toast a few at a time and yes I’ll buy fresh rods a pound at a time.. I knew the harbor freight container didn’t look sealed. I would have bought Hobart that day but i was there so i tried them

    My MIG has issues

If I can catch air gas when it’s open, I can get whatever rod I want. I’ve seen the Forney online. Been curious. Lincoln may be available at one of the box stores. Walmart used to carry some but I don’t think they carry it anymore. The only thing i can guarantee is the 7018 from harbor freight...

    Title ?

In NY if you have a legible vin plate or number on a frame or engine block. You can use a couple forms to declare lost registration and get a new one. But it only works pre 1972

    My MIG has issues

My arc welder is a DC inverter welder. Although 99% of the arc welding I’ve done has been on a Lincoln tombstone AC box. The directions say not to run 6010 but 6011 will run. Research online seems to agree and notes it’s a voltage issue. I’ll have to get some dry and good Hobart 7018, as that...

    My MIG has issues

What welding rod should I use for a model a frame? I bought a box of 6011 1/8” and a box of 7014 3/32” from TSC to see what those 2 will do with the little arc welder

    Wives

My wife knew I was a car and boat guy going in. When I told her I wanted to re kindle a project that she had never seen, and buy a frame for it. She told me that she couldn’t tell me no. We budget for parts and stuff now so I have a little to spend on it.. and since I’m a mechanic. We count the...

Rear end for Model A with transverse spring.

I know. Easier to find in NY and I’m running fenderless so It’ll be nice to have some wiggle room.

Rear end for Model A with transverse spring.

I was thinking about panhard bars. I’m thinking I might grab an S10 4x4 rear. The axles are not stepped in diameter so it makes it straight forward.

    My MIG has issues

For the time being it’s repaired. A new gas solenoid fixed it up. Still buzzing but I found the bad components for sale. The main board has one bulging capacitor and the transformer that is buzzing. I would swap the entire board except I can’t find a main board that matches 100%. I did order...

Model A Pickup just another build !

Looks sweet. I’m going for the same kind of look with my scratch built. Just curious. What is the dimension from the dash to the back of the cab? I’m contemplating stretching my cab a little but not sure how close I am to a real model A cab as it is

    My MIG has issues

I ended up just ordering the gas solenoid. I can’t verify the main board is the correct one. It looks very similar but not exact. So I’ll see if I can get it to flow gas first and then if I get it that far where it’ll weld again I’ll investigate more. Hitbox is begging me pretty much to buy...

    My MIG has issues

I think what I’m going to do is replace the gas solenoid. It’s like $20, and then replace the main board. It’s like $50, and I’ll get a new liner because they are cheap and some new tips. The front panel which I cracked years ago is also available for like $20 if I wanted it
