Hello everyone!
I am a new member to the site from Iowa.
I have been working on my 1953 f100 with the flathead v8 most of the summer and it's coming along nicely. I had to drive all the way to Wichita Ks to get her but I wanted the flathead and they are getting hard to find in these trucks. She came with a 55-66 Chevy bed and fenders, don't ask me why, but I started building my own Ford bed this weekend.
I posted some pictures in the other section with a couple questions so check it out! I think it is coming along nicely.
This is going to be my weekend warrior/ work truck so it's going to get either a flat gunmetal or black paint job then pinstriped. E bed is all 12 gauge steel and gunna get line x. I looked at a couple other members builds for the bed and was impressed. I'm going to build as much as I can on my own.
I got the metal cut and bent this weekend at the fab shop I worked at for years this weekend. It's nice to stay friends with these guys, they just let me use the equipment. I also bent up some material for my running boards that will be started after the bed build is done.
I have started a reverse hood tilt, making my own. And already cut off the drip weld and smoothed it off. It was rotted thru anyway.
Thats all for know I'll try to get some more pictures up later.
