Didn't need another project, the VW is on hold and the 47 Coupe is comming along, but but I got the hots for this 54 Belair so brought it home. It's a barn find sorta! Originally built in da mid 80s and driven for several years then the guy got sick and passed away. The car sat in his garage for about 20 years then the son dragged it to his house where it sat outside for about nother 2 years. He started to "fix" it but gave up.
Most of the car was cobbled up, like gas and brake lines just hanging not secured, so I'm spending my time freshening up stuff that needs it after 20 odd years. 350 chevy motor ran but didn't sound good so I pulled it and will put my 383 back in. The trans was full of trash so it went to a buddy for a rebuild. Drive shaft is about 3/4 inch too long. Rear brakes needed repairs as did the front. The car has a Mustang ll front end that appears to have been install right but needed outer bearing, hoses. The wheels originally on the car were Keystone Raiders which I want to keep but while I was cleaning them I discovered that three are 7 inch wide and one is 6 in. wide. The wireing was replaced by the son but kinda cobbled so I been straightening that up as well. Interior was probably very sharp when new but it shows were and needed cleaning, will be good enough for me.
Should be back on the road in about a month.

nifty project. Dude in my hometown had a beautiful green one with a split manifold and straight pipes. Extra teeth in the grille and real Tijuana upholstry. It was the '50's you know.
