Hey Guys,

Was a forum user on the Hamb, but apparently they don't like the words Rat, and Rod. So Anyway I'm on here to gain knowledge about some cool interests I have with older vehicles. Was recommended to visit and join by another member. So anyway, here is my truck.

It consists of a 1946 Chevy Stylemaster sedan. Chopped in half and mated with a 1947 Chevy truck cab. Frame is from a 1989 Dodge dakota, and engine and drivetrane are from a 87 caprice. It's chopped 3 inches and channeled 5.

Here's a video of it starting for the first time since exhaust and radiator were hooked up.

Welcome to RRR vintagered13. I think I saw your hamb post. That type of thing isn't an issue around here. Enjoy.

Although a very informative site with some good people, some people take themselves way too seriously there sometimes. Don't worry about it.

Yep, most of us know the HAMB and like the info shared there, but the company is generally way better here. The "rat" thing is all in other peoples heads. Here we talk cars, motors, and metal. We like em loud, and mean. We like ingenuity, and originality. We like people with open minds, and who are not out to be mean to anybody with an interest in cars, (trucks, or bikes.)
Your ride is looking good, got any build photos?
welcome to the site.

Welcome!

Vintage,
Rat, rat, rat, rat, rat, rat, rat, rat!!! Ok... there ya go! We love the "R" word so welcome to the forum! Easy goin' bunch here so feel free to join rat in!

Great pictures, thank you. Lets hear how you decided to mate the car and the truck, and how close a fit was it?

Welcome aboard. I'm the guy who saw your post and the treatment you were getting, so I recommended this site.

There is no question the HAMB is huge and has a lot of info available, but some of what goes on really gets to me.

I think you will find the people on here more worldly and not so centered on one aspect of the hobby.

Well basically it was done by a fellow named Joe, out of Old forge, PA. He had his eye on the sedan for a couple maybe 10 years. Then he had an idea to mate the car with the truck and make it an early el camino. haha

He extended the rear of the cab about 8 inches to give the driver some more leg room. and the filled the windows in and all the rest of the gaps with sheet metal. Looks pretty solid.

The top matched up perfect. the sides are narrowed in. so they may have to still be dealt with. But that's next.

Welcome to RRR vintagered. Truck looks great. Post some more of this unusual build. I'm already wanting to see more.

Thanks everyone. Glad you enjoy the jalopy as much as I do. Just mounted the inner fenders for the front and will be posting more pics soon.

Thanks again,

Troy
