What's with the popsicle sticks?

LOL. 2 people noticed those Crank. You and my oldest daughter. They are more like tongue depressors. I used them to shim up the rear bumper during the mock up. When they fell down I just pushed them under the car. Gone now.:D I also used them for gap spacing on the planks for the boat bottom.
I saw this car plaque on e bay and thought of you. :p

You've got a lot to deal with Torchie. I hope you can get back in your groove and keep on keeping on.

Each one of the seams on the 2 rear fenders represents 6-1/2 linear feet of solid welding OI. One tack at a time.:eek:[;) [;)

Just for giggles I payed attention to how long my welding for today took.
23 inches more done. Just under 2 hours with some grinding.
I will need to go back and fill a few obvious holes.
I don't know if that is fast or slow and really don't care.:eek: :D :p
Never any warpage and it works for me.:cool:

Mid 50's here tomorrow so once I'm back from the first test fitting of the new leg socket it's on to some reinforced fiberglass filler.:D

Leg appointment went well.
This is the second appointment In the process and it’s moving right along.
And it is indeed a process. Today was the fitting of the test socket.
This socket is made from the plug that was made when he cast my stump at the last appointment.
Just clear plexiglass so that he can do lots if visual checking. It felt pretty good for a first time test.
Home soon to get some filler on that fender.

No shop time today. All worn out.
So for those that may be interested.........
There are several ways to hold a fake limb on. My first 3 legs were held on by a sleeve that I wore over the stump that had a pin in the end of it. I would insert my stump into the leg socket and stand up and listen for it to click down into the locked position.
To remove it I had a button on the bottom of the socket that I pushed to release it.
Worked well until my skin started to have a reaction to the sleeve.
So we went to the good old fashion "Held on by suction " system.
This will be my 5th leg in 15 years. They do have a shelf life as the stump shrinks as I age.Plus they also just wear out.
So my current process is... Different ply socks over the stump.(Clean socks everyday. They look dirty in the pics from the rubberized gator.)Stick the stump into the socket.. Pull up a "Gator" that protects the sleeve from wear on the inside.
Pull up the sleeve. This is what actually holds on the leg.
Then top it all of with a brace as my knees as well as my hips are shot.:eek:
I can do this all in record time, especially first thing in the morning when nature calls.:eek: :D :p [cl
If the sleeve gets a puncture or stretches out then I get a piston action of the stump in the socket which can lead to bad things. So I'm always on the watch for that.
It keeps things interesting.:eek:
