This is my new 1995.5 Audi UR S6 sleeper. These are getting harder to find and a friend of mine had spent the last couple years sorting this one out. The other day he mentioned that he was thinking of selling it and I was on it like a Duck on a June Bug. These were built from 1994 to 1997 but only available in the USA in 1994-1995. However, you could get them in Canada through 1997. They also made em’ in wagons, Germans refer to those as Avant’s and that’s where it gets interesting. From March of 1992 until June of 1994 Audi and Porsche collaborated to build a model called the RS2 Avant. Unfortunately, of the 2891 RS2 Avant’s built, none of them came to the USA. Instead we got S6 Sedans and Avant/Wagons. Although the RS2 and S6 Avant’s look the same and both sport the same famous Audi turbo charged 2.2 liter inline 5, the RS2’s engine was tuned by Porsche giving it an extra 83 horsepower taking it from 228 to 311. Porsche also did the suspension and the brakes. From Wikipedia, “ In a road test conducted in 1995, British car magazine Autocar timed the RS2 from 0 to 30 mph (48 km/h) at just 1.5 seconds, which they confirmed was faster than both the McLaren F1 road car, and also Jacques Villeneuve's Formula One car of that time. Even by more modern standards, its performance is exceptional; it could accelerate on-par with the 5th generation Chevrolet Corvette (C5) and a 996 generation Porsche 911. The top speed was 166 mph (267 km/h).“ So the fun part is, there’s enough aftermarket goodies available for the UR S6 that it’s easy to build one to RS2 specs. This one has got RS2 injectors, a 2.2 bar waste gate spring, upgraded coil packs and a stage 1+ chip giving it north of 285 hp. It also has a big brake kit that uses Porsche Boxster brakes and H&M coils with bilstein shocks. The engine has been gone through and resealed and all suspension bushings and ball joints have been addressed as well. With the exception of the 5.2 liter V10 S6 I had a couple of years ago this is the fastest car I’ve ever owned, throw a couple corners in the mix and it would probably take that V10 tank for sure.

That'll make a nice cruiser & make a lot of the new "muscle car" owners cry! More pictures definitely needed!

I had a VW with that Audi 5 cyl, man, that thing was fast! Can’t imagine one with a turbo! We bought it for the oldest son, didn’t keep it long, it was too much car for him.

Yes, I've had a couple 2.8's over the years. A 99 A6 Avant automatic and a 2000 A4 5spd. Both were very comfortable and ran / handled well. This ur S6 is a completely different animal. Here's some more pics. I'll be the first to say it, it's not much to look at.
