Wasn't the same car used in American Graffiti?
Yes. I believe the number 1 car was used. Number 2 was the camera car. There were 3 cars built for Two-laned Blacktop. One of the cars was taken to Irwindale Race Track where it ran 10:90's. Then they drove it down Van Nuys Blvd. Saw it on Van Nuys.

It was stored on the Universal Lot until A.G. Then it was painted black, front bumper added and a cover for the rear of the interior. The A.G. car was bought and a stock front end was put on. Crushed red velour interior. Cars looks terrible now.

Wow, I had to look way back to find this one.

Maddog, your avatar pic....an original Ron Lahr shot. Do you know whose head that is in the bottom left corner?

Maddog,
I love this thread too. This should give you some serious ideas for your build. Thanks to everyone who's posted so far!

This one was owned by "Gotcha", a pinstripper from Van Nuys, Ca.
It had a Big Block Ford. It is currently or has been restored. I believe it's in Northern California now.
