The same thought crossed my mind too, Dutch. It brings to mind the background where the Hobbits lived.

chrome trunk hinges

found these on a local auction site .. so i snapped up a pair.. reckon they should be visible functional and not so big airplanes think they are indicative of a nearby runway..

dimensionally around 2" x 3". so should tuck in quite nicely..

spent a few hours fooling round with my parts collection today ..

first proper mock-up ..

(stude has been main source of car fun stuff in recent times.. lots of little jobs .. finally got a fully functioning heater in it. among other cool stuff)

due to the shape of my tub ive move the 1/4's forward 4" . from the grille to the rear approximately 117.5" .. my Model A frame is about 118" (ive lengthened it a few parts )

i reckon it will go together quite well give or take 1/4 to 1/2" here and there

screen height is as shown in my chopped pic .. im pretty sure over-all the body flows right . ( keep in mind 23 Dodge front - 27 Willys rear )

having said that im a little reluctant to chop hammer and weld and build one body , due to the rarity, and current lack of enthusiasm..

VERY MUCH OPEN to thoughts !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

thanks

Can’t help you with the enthusiasm.
Everything we all work on is rare now.
At least it’s being saved. In one form or another....
Torchie

build

i like threads like this. take a bunch of parts and build something unique out of it. i think any of your ideas would work fine. i imagine of you like t bucket types or roadster types that would be the attraction. just my thought, a 26-7 ford turtle deck would look good too. the desire is to use what you got so your not locked into a specific style. it will be interesting to see what people say what it is when it is done. keep at it!!

Here's another angle, Crate. Sorta like Torchies observation. If you weld those two rarish segments together and then hammer them into shape, you will have a nice car. That's a positive.
If you don't join them, both halves will just sit there and rot away. You won't have offended any die-hard purists, but, you won't have made yourself or anyone else happy to see another cool car.

Make The Car.
