Great read on the 14 year old Eman! What a loss! That exciting 4th of july reminds me of last New Years Eve. We always get the biggest mortars available here for fireworks. They launch out of tubes to direct them into the air like the video. I lit one that time that just had cleared the tube when it went off. No time to get more than a step away...sheesh! Huh? Whadya say?
Looks like the other fireworks were in the back of that car when the dud went off.

It caused some hearing loss for a while...those things are brutal. They give you a pipe about 12" long and we were experimenting with a longer pipe to see if it made a difference....it sure did.[ddd. There were no major injuries. But everyone there was probably within 25 ft of the launch site sitting around the fire and doing a little sipping and other things when it went off. Might say we all got a short thrill. We went back to the short pipes although I'm can't really say that a longer pipe would have created that problem. It didn't make since to me but I wasn't gonna test fate on the first day of the year.
