I really wanted to run the stock transverse spring in the rear. After getting it all mocked up, here's what I came up with for a spring perch...

I stared at it for a long time and didn't like it. Finally decided to go to Plan B...(gasp) coilovers [ddd

Here's the four link all tacked in and checked for bind, clearance issues, etc. [;)

And here it is all done and painted. Sorry, no progress pics, I was on a time crunch so I could get to Hershey [P

Nice work! Really dig the bead rolling on the bed panel. I'm getting ready to start building my bed so I'll be watching this closely. Keep it going!

Thanks guys!

It's 16ga so it's a bit of a pain to work with...coming out like I'd hoped so that makes it worth it [cl

Got the front bed panel made up...

Then made the frame work out of 3/4" square tube...100% TIG welded, that took awhile [;)

DSCN2416.jpg

Next up I welded the frame work to the sheetmetal...

DSCN2419.jpg

Made a hole for the driveshaft too, still gotta cut the cab...

DSCN2428.jpg

Here's the filler panel for below the tailgate. Looked kinda blan so I decided to mount some '54 Buick taillites in it.

DSCN2425.jpg

All welded up and ready to mount. Definitley more truck looking now [ddd

Tailgate hinges...

DSCN2556.jpg

I thought they were done...I showed them to a buddy of mine and he convinced me to round the ends off...thanks Dave!

Here's what I came up with for tailgate latch holder things.

1/2" allen head bolt and a button head bolt of un-remembered size.

DSCN2575.jpg

TIG'd the center solid... [;)

DSCN2576.jpg

Cut the button head off and TIG'd it to the 1/2" allen...

DSCN2581.jpg

All ground down and smoothed out...

DSCN2582.jpg

TIG'd on a piece of chain...

DSCN2583.jpg

On the truck...

DSCN2585.jpg

The fit is tight enough that you have to give it a little side to side twist to get it in, so I'm not worried about it popping out going down the road....hopefully :)
