Woo Hooooo !!! Best in show

I was in a Show one town over tonight and was StUNNED when the show officials approached me and asked if the Super 88 was mine. They said we'd like to congratulate you as you car is tonights Best in Show car.



For once in my life I was speechless. There were a little over 250 Cars tonight. This is a once on month show last month the weather was in the 70s and there were 600 cars. The 90 degree temps hurt attendance today.

I apologize for the lack od pics as I go to these things just to have fun, hang out with Car people, talk about cars and just have a nice night out.

I was parked two over from this Camero, maybe the guy that shoot this video might have some video of me.

So, next moth I get a featured spot and my car is on the little metal placard they give away. One of the sponsors is have a Pro-photograper take a few pics of my car. Very cool as I only have a Flip phone and my pics are embracing at best.

I'm still in shock as there were some very outstanding cars there tonight.

There a was a Man at the show tonight with is daughter maybe 11 y.o.? She had Downs Syndrome. She just light up when she saw the Cheetah pattern seat covers in my car. I asked her if she wanted to get in the car & have her dad take her pic.

The smile on her face was the best trophy in the world.

Congratulations IR! A beautiful car when it was new and only getting better with time.

There was a Very cool 1925 Speedster there tonight. The owner was in his 80s. He bought the basic 1925 Ford in the 60's and it sat in this garage for 20 years. in the '80 he decided to build it. He drove to Iowa back then and copped a pattern of a speedster there. Came back home to Illinois and fabricated a boat tail rear to the car. Ie. everything behind the cowl.

I absolutely love this car. I even asked him if he would adopt me. I told him I'd take out the trash & mow the lawn and he didn't even need to give me an alliance. Just put me in the his will to get the Speedster. He thought that was all pretty funny, Even said he always wanted a Son as he had daughters. Who BTW would all be my age. But, that's another thread.
