My dad was able to get the John Deere put back together this last week. I picked it up so I can start getting it prepared for winter! Drove it around the yard a little bit just to make sure everything was good to go

LB - The green machine is looking real fine in it's second life
I love those JD tripod front ends.
What's in it's future for mild farm operation?

LB50 -- Looking back to the parts pictures in post # 12 the valves looked real good for a tractor that had water in the cylinders for a time. Were they lapped & reused? What about the pistons? How many years sense the last motor rebuild? Nice to see old "Iron" on the move again.

we actually did a regrind on them and the head. lapped then re installed. the cylinders where cleaned, then honed out. we re ringed the stock pistons and she now fires right off, even in the cold!!
