Here's a couple GMC heavy trucks. Apparently these are '39 and/or '40.

Dr C. is on the money. Not 37 Chevy 1/2 ton. The top is different and there are no headlight mounting holes on the sides.

Thanks for the help guys, I couldn't place the manufacturer to even look for similar grilles.
Funny you should mention an armor helm, because that will be the look I go for in front.

DR- I have the GMC insert-your grill looks a lot like my 37- it's a one ton-the only difference is my headlights mount on the side of the housing.

My shell is made different-the insert in the pix is the only piece that is seperate from the shell

I believe you have a non Heavy truck version then...
That style apparently was only on 1.25, and 2.25 Ton trucks, and "Jimmys" which I believe were the semi versions... I am not 100% sure but so far that is what people have mentioned.
