My two projects, the Bantam and the '29 Chevy Roadster Pick Up are about 85% done. Remember, the Chevy is being built out of left over stuff I had stored in the woods. Well, there's still some junk out there. Enough to start another roadster.
Winter will be here soon and that means lots of building time. I bought this Hupmobile cowl (pictured) 5 years ago and luckily found a matching radiator shell (not pictured) with a good emblem. Trimmed most of the crap off of it today. Also picked up 5 '30 Chevy coupe quarter panels. So, all I need to do is make some doors and assemble a roadster body. In the weeds is a '28 Dodge frame and in that pile of nondescript stuff is a 8" Ford rear end, an Econoline front axle and some early Chevy front axles. Got Chevy small blocks ranging from 283, 327, 350 to 400 cu. in.

I've included a pic of a Chevy roadster body mocked together (not mine) and a pic of a running roadster that is what I'm trying to achieve.

I can work on this project all winter without spending much money, which is in short supply lately.

that guy has tons of stuff too, search wichita cl for hoisington. he had one of those art deco dealership toolbox/workstations everyone turns into bars a few years ago.

The headlights on the one you posted are very cool, joedoh.
A marked departure from the pedestal head lights on most cars of that era.

bob.w. I've said it before and I'll say it again. You are my hero. I'm in too.

Here's a couple pics of the radiator shell. Kept striping stuff off the cowl. Very rusty pieces on the cowl top. I'm adding the 1/8" by 2" cowl band to add strength and to hopefully make it look more like a roadster cowl.

The Party Roadster

Hupmobile in front, Chevy in back.:D Sorta like a Mullet.

Tweeked the cowl band a bit and welded it some more. Made and welded lower patch panels on both sides.

Thanks for your support, guys. Thanks for posting Hupmobile bodies. The sport roadster is way cool.
