mercury 1958 montery

Hello everybody!
Just joined this forum and after buying a'58 merc montery sedan i'm looking for photos of cars like this with the ratrod look treatment..

PLEASE! Don't paint it flat black with red wheels!!! It looks cool like it is...just lower it and maybe throw on a set of Astro Supremes, and you'll be good!

I might frost some fish-scales or scallops or something in the blue areas.... nothing heavy, just enough to be seen and really set it off. Those are cool looking cars.

put on a trailer hitch and pull that camper around with it,paint some blue on the camper too...

I believe I would have to shave the door handles, but agree I wouldn't do much.

I was thinking of painting the lower part of the car, just under the trim, the same blue color as the roof. I think it's too much a wedding car like it is now.
It has a bit of rust but nothing too serious, the engine is a 383 with an automatic push button operated gearbox. The engine needs some work but that will be no problem, all suggestions/ideas are welcome!
Personally I like the rusty 'barn-find' look like the black wagon on the photo which I found on the net

Nice score! Had a '55 Ford that was factory black and white. The white was left shiney but the black was painted over flat. This was many years ago and everybody loved it.i would like to see something like that here. Not flat black but flat blue with shiney white.

Here more photos of the station (from the web) and of a chevy (?) which has the look that I would like to give the Mercury. What do you think about fender skirts?

Those front bumpers would have to be hard to find (at least around here) everybody ran them on the figure 8 cars for years.
