And a ¼ midget... I always hoped my go cart would grow into one of these
one day.. and evolve into a full midget. But it never did... '22

Any info?

Great pics, 22 !!!! Am real partial to the midgets, especially the 30's & 40's. My grandfather built midgets out of Ohio in that time frame. Wish I had some pics of his creations.

Hey Bruce, do you have any information at all?
It would be cool to know the history.
Here is an add, maybe your gramps place was like this :D

Is it possible Gastrick doesn't have any midget fotos?!?!:D

Well Bob, at this point I guess not ;). So, here I go again...:D '22

Here is a crazy midget track, Nutley Velodrome.
I just ordered a book on this one, looking forward to the read.
The track was a wooden bowl, built originally as a bicycle velodrome.
I’ve seen it listed as a fifth and a seventh of a mile in length, but with
lap times in the eight second range..... We will see what the book says.
Nutley was said to be the most terrifying track ever built, the banking was
45 degrees, too steep for a man to walk up!
Nutley was open for auto racing for only two years, 1938 and 1939.

I love old Midgets!!!!

Wow that didn't sound right......

From what I've found I think they were sort of a later descendant to the Model T speedsters, The Pre-Old school hot rods.

Jeff Gordon

Here is a young Jeff Gordon with midget and, of course, a trophy
The blue duct tape on the wheels is an interesting, but practical touch.
Keeps the dirt / mud out of the wheels.
