I retired today. Today was my last day at work. I have to go in tomorrow and sign some paperwork but that's it. Now I'm going to kick back a bit and then start on my 34 Ford project. I hope to catch up on some things I've missed over the years due to the demanding nature of my job. :)

Congrats Gastrick!!! The only thing I miss about my old job is... my old paycheck!:eek::eek:

I can't wait to see some progress on that beautiful '34! Welcome to the world of the retired!!! [ddd

Congratulations!!! The days will go by fast, and and you will wonder how you got anything done when you were working. Or so I hear. We expect a full report.

Yes congrats.Like Bonehead said ,friend of ours retired a while ago and still complaints that he cant get everything done that he needs to do. I hope you enjoy your retirement tho and get lots of car stuff done.

The first week your going to wonder what to do......after that, everybody is going to be making demands of your time, after all, your 'retired'. You won't have the spare time you thought you were going to have. Ask anyone who's retired, and owns tools and/or a pickup truck. Your going to be real popular!!:D:D Congratulations and enjoy that first week.

Congratulations! You'll like it since you have a hobby that is your passion. No worries about boredom.
I worked one place for 33 years and loved the jobs I had, the company and the coworkers. Strangely, I didn't miss it at all once I walked out the door. Hoping the same for you.
Pasta on me!

p.s. I think I can fix everything on the Anglia. But if a good nose was available...

I was just thinking today that you must be down to the last couple of days. Congratulations Bill, I'm so happy for you. The good thing is, you are young enough to take advantage of the time and enjoy it to the max. Have fun with that 34, and we WANT LOTS OF PICTURES!! [cl

As Sniper said, at first it will seem very strange to you, but after a little while you will love the freedom and that you can do things when otherwise you would have been locked at work. It's been 6 months for me, and I really like it. (and I get to run errands for the rest of the family who have to work all day :p)

Been retired for the last 4 yrs. due to medical problems and I still miss my welding - just can't do it any more because of the lungs and the pace maker. When I had the money, just didn't have the time - - Now I have the time and no money - - what's a poor boy to do ? Congradts there Gastrick, just keep your self busy - but with the '34 and all I don't see ya having any problems.

congrats for sure gastrick! may you enjoy each and every day and remember those of us still in the trenches....:D

Congrats again, I can not wait for that time in my life, although like most have said I am sure it will be busier then any of us really think it will be. My Dad retired a couple years ago, and he complains about being busier now then he ever was while he was working...

Crap 6 years to go for me. :(

Wish it was that close... multiply that by 6 and its about right...
