The block is a 79 MerCruiser (boat engine), The head is 64 Chevy Nova and the intake and exhaust is 78 Pontiac. The Iron Duke was used in alot of applications so I am still finding out. The Fiero version uses the crossflow head. Not desirable. It has been punched 30 over with flat tops.
A 14 guage metal strap works great as a jumper wire. Cut a peice from sheet steel, Drill it to fit and install. Good tech! Gear reduction starters (mini starter) also fix the problem for good.
If you ever painted your car and tried to drag the hose around the tires you know it always gets hung up. The cure is take old brake shoes and place them in front of the tires where the hose would hang up...Problem solved.
Again, Thanks guys for the kudos. The car has a long way to go yet but over this winter it will be finished. Needs a new top and alot of chromework. Still hasn`t been wetsanded and buffed. I`m building a second Iron Duke which will have a small amount of muscle. Story and pix to come as soon as...
