Beautiful day yesterday so we drove the beast for the first time this year! Went up to Santa Fe for some New Mexican food!

Numbers need one more coat of white. I'm using an extra large Sharpie paint pen and brush.

I think I'll use a brush like I did on the 34 plate. I've tried the small roller and it didn't work well for me.

Lettering is done. I need to finish the numbers.

Ok the paint job! It still hasn't been shot yet. He did get it assembled and aligned. Now he's blocking it again.

I soaked the plate on vinegar overnight and have it a wire brushing and sanding to remove all the rust and old paint on the front. Left the old color on the back. This is rinsed off before a good scrubbing.

I'm restoring a 1950 New Mexico plate for the car. MVD requires the plate to be readable original or restored to close but doesn't have to be the exact colors. The plates I have needed to nice to go on the painted car. If I ever get it back! It was blue background with white letters and numbers.
