I like to weld cast with a torch. More of brazzing really. You need to grind the surface down and weld it on a neutral flame. They make rods just for cast.
I used a TIG today with scratch start and no pedal. It was kinda nice and very cheap to get into. Im looking to buy a TIG myself. But the cost is kinda high for me. I thought this may be a good way to go. All im going to do it steel. And for the cost of a Arc welder (which I have) and the TIG...
No they have electric power steering. There is still attachemnt to the rack but an electric motor is used to give the power assist. It is in the steering column. And they are a POS.
And honda did the 4 wheel steer in the 90's on the prelude. So that was kinda steer by wire.
