    yep, taking the panel off is just pulling the handles and unscrewing it. if I rercover the panel I'll probably just go over the sheet

    I ruffed up the smooth side of the closet door carcass with a belt sander and used 3M multi-purpose spray adhesive. spray both fabric and panel. holds strong so far, i'll let ya know if it fails (I've never used it before).

    made this from goodwill sheets and carcass is made from some cheep hollow core closet doors i had laying around. total cost $7.99 plus $1.40/ft for the chain

    use window screen as templates

    I couldn't find any paper or cardboard lying around big enough to make a template for my door panel, so I cut up an old window screen i had lying around. Worked great. rigid enough to make easy cuts with a razor blade and you can see through it to cut out door handles. probably not cost...

    I picked up an old sewing maching (late 70's early 80's model) from goodwill for like $25. they are way stronger and have metal gears vs cheapos from walmart. alot better for thicker material and I've even sewn denium and vinyl with it
