Dad came over and inspected the lower cog. He said to run new one as original is worn. So put the washer on, put the gear on UPSIDE DOWN. The bottom gear is now the same height as in the original. Bore hole, put in roll pin. Remove manifold, find TDC on number one, and fit distributor. Feed...

Bought leads and correct coil for distributor. Ran into issues doing the bottom cog swap, I'll need to take it to an engineer to machine it out. Also realised the the Holley is missing the fuel banjo. Have ordered part. Edit finally got a exact surgery date, 9th September. Hooray

Another piece of the puzzle arrived this morning from Australia. Need to purchase a coil and a plug lead set next. Then time up and fire it up to see if it's got oil pressure and do a compression test.

Well all but 1 distributor has gone, as well as the 4cyl 4speed I had. Still waiting for distributor. But it's all going to grind to a halt very soon. The h 57ealth system in NZ has approved surgery on my wrists. I've been waiting about 18 months of pure agony. Our country went into lockdown for...

Cut the sides out (roughly) on Thursday night. Took them to work, shaped up two ends, workmate tacked them into place. Shaped up the other two ready to be tigged up. Workmate was called out to a breakdown so he didn't get it done. I received a text this morning to come and get it. I'm stoked...

Steam cleaned the flat intake. Looks far too clean. Oh well. Went and saw the company that produces our dump truck bodies. Asked to raid scrap bin, stoked to have some involvement with the project. Cut out Ford bottom plate and Holley top plate out of 8mm. Raided our scrap bin and got some 3mm...

Sold some of the old Holden goodies, headers and a Brand X 2 barrel intake. Bought a lightweight flywheel, and got another clutch with it. Need to remove motor and box out of the chassis so I can change flex plate for flywheel. Also need to buy mounting hardware for flywheel/clutch. Also bought...

Dead day at work. This happened. Ford is quite a bit physically bigger. Needs to go back another 100-150mm

Got absolutely sick of waiting for the pined after Hemi. Have gone totally left field and bought another in line 6, this time a 4.0l SOHC Australian Ford. These are 210hp standard in efi form, but efi is something I don't particularly like. I'm going to take all the junk (injection and loom, and...

    My unusual inline 6

Holden is being binned in favour of a 265ci Aussie Chrysler 6. 200hp vs 92hp of the holden is a no brainer

Still about. Nothings changed. Still no Hemi. Apparently access to the barn it's all stored in is washed out. Play waiting game. Merry Christmas everyone. Hopefully a big push on Jailbait next year

Well not much has changed. My father has been in and out of hospital over the last couple of weeks. Him and Mum fly out to Fiji today. Once they get back I'll have to get on his case about the Hemis..Can't really do much until it's mounted in case I need to chop the tunnel out...

I love Hemi 6s. I owned a E48 Charger in the 90s (regret selling that now....)Second to last racecar I had was E31 Pacer 245 powered. Such a aggressive, explosive engine for a 6. I'll be into it once it's mounted, power to weight will be soo much better..getting amped to get it home and in.

Thanks man. I don't spend nowhere near enough time on this. Wifey has me fixing house issues most of my time now/I'm extremely lazy/tired.... I need to go and collect the engine(s) very soon. Still trying to figure out this seat. Pretty much going to just start making something and go with that....

We'll watch this space. I have the chance to acquire the engine I wanted to put in it originally. Bigger displacement, far more power, not a Holden, and a million times cooler. Not going to reveal until it's in my shed though. I've got fingers and toes crossed this all works out
