If you can't laugh at yourself

I would have laughed harder if I hadn't done this EXACT same thing less than a month ago. Humdrum maintenance on the daily, not paying attention. it happens! Haha. :D

    Studebaker-powered TROG build

I have been in contact directly with Mel Stultz who organizes the event (and gives the final yay or nay on entries and all of their components), and he is pretty jazzed about what we have planned. Of course we will be working closely with him to ensure all parts/modifications etc. will continue...

'Race Cars'! Got one/had one... let's see it

You can move the TROG car to this section if you feel it is better suited here than Builds. Either one works for me. [;)

    Studebaker-powered TROG build

Between the transmission and the rear differential, slingshot style. This is the seat setup, a Korean War-era Weber. The seatbelt is from the same time frame. Made by FoMoCo for aircraft use.

    Glass

Speaking from the other end, never hold it against a shop who doesn't want to give you a "ballpark" figure - especially over the phone. This can often come back to bite them in the ass, because they have no idea what you actually have or potential issues you may be unaware of. Most small...

    Studebaker-powered TROG build

My car club is putting together a build to hopefully compete in the Rail Class at The Race Of Gentleman this year, so I figured I would start a build thread here for anyone who cares to follow along. Per TROG rules the chassis must be Ford-based, so we are going with a highly modified Model A...

    Cut off wheels!

Be VERY aware of "cheap" cutoff wheels. They have a habit of exploding and burying deeply into whatever soft tissue is nearby, including your arms and face. Look into buying one of these. Fastenal is carrying them. They are kinda loud, and leave a slightly wider kerf than standard...

Signal Stat 800 to American Autowire harness

Yes, the flasher needs a load to work. Side note - If this guy isn't thrilled about spending $50, then he's not the kind of guy to be working for. What is 12 hours of your time worth??

Signal Stat 800 to American Autowire harness

Call American Autowire and go to Craig at extension 212. He will get you straightened out. That is IF the signal switch works. "I think it did" should have meant buying a new one. They aren't expensive, and it's wasting your time which = money. He is stepping over your dollars to pick up...

    Much better. [cl Nice work!

53 AD Chopped, sectioned and narrowed

Well, as much as I would question the customer's judgement with that wheel/tire combo (still terrible), I have to say I personally prefer the smaller window. IMO the other one was just too tall and it threw off the flow of the chop. Opinions though, you know...

    Radius rods

Been running that exact same axle/hairpin setup under a '34 Ford truck with a 460 Ford in it for over 12 years, and it gets the eyeballs beat out of it on a regular basis - No issues whatsoever. The clevises aren't load bearing and have no torsional load. They're fine...
