I will also try to wear them when working in the shop.

    Anyone get shop hangovers?

Well, I stopped and got a few different styles of ear plugs. Normal foam ones don't work worth a crap in my ear holes. They fall out quick, even when out in properly. So got a couple different styles of ribbed plastic ones. One with a hard band, and another with a string to hang them around...

I was going to hang the battery from the drivers side, but when I got looking at it, that's the side the fuel filler neck is located. And I wasn't comfortable with the battery being inches away from fuel. I like big bangs most of the time, but in this case, I'll avoid it. Only problem is I put...

A little progress. I built the battery box and got it hung. I decided to put it under the bed to keep as much room available in the cab as possible. Side bracket template Scratching out on 3/16" plate. I wanted both sides to be exactly the same, so I welded the two pieces together so I...

    Anyone get shop hangovers?

Thanks for everyone's feedback! I think I'm going to try a systematic approach. Eye doc visit is probably in order. Next long night I have with a good mix of welding, grinding, cutting, I'll wear a full face mask. See how I feel the next day. I'm also very bad about hearing protection too...

    Anyone get shop hangovers?

This might very well be a part of it too now that you mention it. I grind my teeth bad. And when stressed at work, my thighs KILL the next day. I much keep them clinched or something.

    Anyone get shop hangovers?

My eyes aren't too bad. They want me to wear glasses at night because I'm partially night blind. But otherwise, I don't need anything. I might just try a full face respirator next round and see if that does anything. Good call. I'll check that out. I haven't been known to be allergic to...

    Anyone get shop hangovers?

Anyone ever get these? Seems like every time I spend any good legnth of time in the shop doing stuff I have a massive headache the next day. Doesn't matter if I have the garage door open with good air circulation or if it's closed up the whole time. Spent about 7 hours last night out there...

Pain? Yeah, starting to notice that :D I appreciate the link. I think I'll snag the model number of the box and go from there. I appreciate everyone's help! Glad I stopped now rather then getting all excited in the middle of the night on a Saturday and tried to fill and bleed the steering [S

What year is your box? On my reading, I'm seeing the older boxs used the flare fittings and the newer (70's and up?) have the o-ring fittings. Now I got to check and see what year I got this box from. I want to say 78. Maybe I'm missing the midget. Would the midget hold it tight? :D:D:p

Ahhhh. I think I see what I did wrong. Are the ports in the GM steering box o-ring style fittings like the hydroboost? If so, I have the wrong fittings. I believe the right fittings are 18mm - 1.5 o-ring to -6an adapter for the input port and 16mm - 1.5 o-ring adapter for the return port...

Last post for the night. I need some input here guys. One swivel fitting on the AN lines for the steering seems very loose. Can you guys watch the video and give me some input? I'm not familiar enough with AN fittings to know if this is normal or not. Being part of the steering system, I don't...

Got me a big......okay, medium sized box today. The wife is starting to wonder who this Summit gal is. She also thinks Summit is some sort of stripper name, and a horrible play on words. I digress. Anyways. I forgot what I had ordered since so much stuffs is showing up these days. Open er...

I think i might have mentioned this earlier on in the thread. Okay, so try to keep up. I ordered a custom shifter from a guy called Kilduff Machines. He's building me a lightning rod shifter for the rat rod. Video: http://youtu.be/P25xh_xGdkU Mines a little different. The mopar 47RE is 3...

I also started the steering shaft. Word of advice on these, make sure you don't let the shaft go too far into the joint. I had it all setup and felt binding. I was afraid I had the angle too sharp, but when it took it apart, I noticed the shaft was barely rubbing inside the u-joint. Also...

Got the battery cable kit. I wanted to make sure I had enough to put the battery anywhere. I had planned to install right behind the drivers seat in the bed, below the bed floor, but this battery is so freakin big that it won't leave enough room for the bed floor to have any hinged baled to...
