In regards to your glass is a fluid statement, I think it's REALLY cool on turn of the century buildings the glass is all wavey and rippled downwards. I used that example to the wife to explain the fluid part so she could understand. It's pretty neat.

Ha! :) The trash bags are full of leafs. Figured they would make good padding :) My hopes was to get the interior together over the winter, however, wife said she ain't giving up the heated garage. She's got the taste of blood now and ain't letting go. So, got the process started for a...

    Golden Colorado Super Cruise 8-6-16

Now that mine is on the road, I made the last couple golden cruises. Hope to be in carnage next year. Was about a week short of having mine on the road for this years. Wouldn't mind catching up with you at one of these next year.

    Help with throttle cable

Hey that's not a bad idea. I assume he used the set screw still? I was thinking of breaking out the rig welder and making the very end of the cable solid so the set screw bites down on solid rather than stranded. But then I fear where the solid stops and strand starts, would be a weak point...

Actually, I was going to ask, anyone have any idea how much a shop would have charged to do the windshields on this truck? I was guessing at least $500 for the labor, not including the glass, and with absolutely no guarantee it could be done.

    Help with throttle cable

I have a fancy cable on my truck. I ran it for about 700 miles with no issues other than a foul,e of strands around the cable coming loose. Suddenly one night the cable broke free from the set screw. No big deal, stuff it back in and tighten the set screw. This round it lasted about 30 miles...

Just a Toyo TC-17 glass cutter. It's the kind you fill with cutting oil but we didn't have it fillled. It makes a mess if it's filled. Simply score one side in one fail swoop. Then gently bend the glass on one end or the other to start the crack, then slowly work the crack across the score to...

With windsheild #1 successfully installed, we moved to #2. It took us about 4 hours to knock out #1. #2, hour and a half. Gotta tell ya, it's quite interesting cutting glass. It's not a ridigid and unmanageable as I expected it to be. It sounds weird, but it has a personality of sorts. It...

Alright boys and girls. Here it goes Built a quick rack to haul these two windshields over to my buddy's house. Hard to haul glass in a truck with no bed floor. First one on the chopping block. Quite literally. Not sure if I mentioned earlier in the thread but these are windshields from a...

I've also learned something about myself I didn't know. Only made it to two shows so far, and the first one is more of a cruise. The second was a show. Park your ride and sit. Turns out I'm not much of a show guy. At least on the participant side of things. I feel like I'm just sitting and...

I'm REALLY looking forward to it myself! I mean, not looking forward to actually doing it, but looking forward to the end result :) I've probably got 5-600 miles on the truck already (hard to tell with just a pile of wires hanging out of the hole where the speedometer is supposed to be)...

Well, ya caught me. I don't have glass in the front yet. I installed lexan temporally to get the truck to the last couple shows of the season. Come to find out that this stuff is a static machine. And I live on 2 miles of dirt road before I see pavement so every time I leave t gets coated...

Thanks you guys for th comments! I'm pretty happy to have it rolling. Still lots to do, but at least I can now enjoy it while I kill time wrenching on it. I got some old style "big rig" mirrors for it that fit very well. I got the drivers side mounted but it was nearly impossible to adjust it...

Took the truck out yesterday for some errands. Drove 111 miles. Before I left I filled up to the brim. Upon return filled up again at the same pump. 4.1 gallons. That's a solid 27 MPG! Can't complain too much about that :)

Not doing very well updating, so I'll go back and toss up some stuff when I get time. Right now I'm blasting out the to-do list to make it for its first true Maiden voyage to a show Saturday. First full tank of fuel :)
