    thoughts on clarke welders?

Bigest problem you apprentice welders will come into as you begin to perfect your touch, is to keep the tip out of the slag. Once you ground out your tip and electrode, you will eventually foul your welder and cause a curent over load. This over load will litterally fry your main control board...

    First time welder advise

To clear the air about your Century welder compaired to other units. Century has been building welders for over 80 years. They are the main source/ supplier for specialty brands such as, "Craftsman" and "Snap-On", recently Century has been forced to actually move on to a more diversed setup...

Hey Bones, long time since we last past each other........:p.......I am really glad to see you are back to feeling some what better from last year. Tig/Plasma Combos?? Anyone?

I found my plasma cutter at a pawn shop. It was a great deal and the unit was brand new. I paid $350 for the box and it retailes for over $750. This is a tough question to answer as well. Logic can only dictate what you need for your projects at home. There are several avenues to take in...

    welding cart

DIY is the best to learn your welders ability and to hone your skills. Not very difficult and be done with in an afternoon. Also, if you have some really cool friends, have a cart party for the occassion. Anything to have the gang over for some drinks and share a party sub is worth the time to...

    Auto darkening helmets

Helmets are good, but not for $350 plus. If you are looking for a good home project helmet which will only be used here and there, don't take this as a slap to all of you, but I have found the $50 helmet from Harbor Freight has been the best inexpensive tool for the money. The thing is solar...

    Road Glide or Street Glide??????????

I ride a '97 Ultra Classic, and I ride as long there isn't ice on the ground. Today would have been great, only we have a blizard front ontop of our area for now. I am building a rigid sled for around town as a hood hopper this winter, I get tired of toating all them bags everywhere. Maximo

35 IH AKA Project "Riff Raff" build

A & P certs are a real big certificate Andrew. Not many people in the general public can claim to be worthy of such a sheep skin as that. Your A & P cert is just the same as a bachlors degree, it covers nearly everything an aeronautical engineer would have had to learn. Plus some! With such a...

    Jan's 1951 45" Harley-Davidson wlj

My first HD was an old '45 WL, I paid $200 and it was in three crates under an old trailer down south of LakeWells FLA. This was back in the early 80's. Them old crates are really hard to come by now.;) Maximo

    Some bikes I've owned

Now that really sucks the bag! I had my '81 Low Rider stolen back '96, spent more then $7K upgrading the engine and trans, then some POS ripped me off in less then 1 month. My wife was devastated cause she only had 1 ride after I finished the beast. I now ride a '97 Ultra Classic. Gets me around...

    My first build

Interesting build...just wouldn't want to hit any hard dipps or ruts in the road.......might end up on the rear tire and get into some serious hurt. Overall, good looking bike.:D Maximo

    Kool Bike Photos!!!

Here is my 97 Ultra Classic It was a basket case when I brought it home, still has a few bugs to work out. Snow is getting ready to fly out here and I out grew my last pair of chaps. Waiting for new pair to arrive this week. It gets cold at 5am and the standing temp is a blistering 24*F, chill...

    XL500

Very easy to build up into a cool rat metric. As far as parts are concerned, if it is in the carb, that can be fixed by incorporating a newer carb. And for the rest of the unit, most electrical stuff can be found on newer bikes and converted over. Nothing like learning how to become a HARD CORE...

    Board track racer photos!

I checked out the build site and was in touch with the guy doing this work. The going price for one of these very fine engineered replicas is just around $150K large ones. Every bit of these track racers are completely hand built and special casting had to be engineered to build the ten that had...
