    A new friend reccomended turning to the masses, (you-s guys) and tap into the wisdom... Attached is a pic of the Rear shock mount set up i have... Do i need to add more support? The cross members and supports are built out of a heavy gauge (?) 1 x 1 square stock w gussets welded in at the shoch...

    initially i was a littly leary as well, so... I welded a safety loop (cut the legs off a roll bar) and ran a heavy run of 2x2 angle along the lower frame rail from beyond the rear end mounts, up to the front portion of the frame... Just cant see it with the channel, plus iv got alotsa cross...

    yes, it looks alot like a tube frame funny car in the front half, ya even got to step over the frame as you nestle in to the 7 + inch channel.

    the beginning of the end... not really! for the inagural ride we went to the gas station to fill up w some good sunoco 260... or next best thing. am pleased w this project, at least with most of it, so far... now comes a diff breed of fun with "betsy" or maybe "ginny"

    motoring the mill came out of this fine donor vehicle, 350 jenkens rebuild w 60k ish, it got new(er) chevy "turbo" heads w 2.02 valves and a high output comp cams marine cam... the cross ram prob isnt the most efficient, but i think it looks cool. and the fenderless fenderwell headers are out...

    Reply Frame, was a gusseted roofing frame, you can kinda see it in the avatar, plenty heavy... The steering is a trans am tilt column, shortened 3" and affixed through a colapsable shaft to a manual 68-ish mustang box, with a cross steer set up, and a pan hard bar. D/b

    out of propane, and beer - time for bed! its funny, if i sit down on the couch, i can be asleep in minutes, if i go the garage and get busy, 3:00 am is not a difficulty.

    luck vs. sense two things that amazed me... how things would just seem to fit, kinda like puzzel pieces, or a model when you were a kid. and two, how that after a few cold oned i was actually believing that i could bend the metal to my will...;)

    Most intelligent folks would just buy a truck, not me, i just wanted to share the "thrill" of the first ride... I just took my inagural drive to the gas station. It didn't quit, didn't pull, didn't shimmy, didn't brake dive... I happy!! Now for the fine tuning... d/b
