    48 F1 LinkFord project

So, I got to work on the 48 yesterday. I have always entertained the idea of a wood grained dash. So, that is what I did. I have done this by using my airbrush, but it is very time comsuming. I used printed vinyl and a heat gun to apply it . Ok, I will admit it. I used a $9 roll of shelf paper...

I wrapped the running boards in fober insulation, so that they didnt make the running boards hot. Plus, I flattened the larger pipe , so that you cant really see it running under there.

Below is the exhaust tips I made . I took a piece of 4" exhaust pipe and messaged it into an oval shape. I then welded my 2 1/2" pipe to them. I used a hole saw to cut the running boards , then made a plate as sort of a flange. Just so thwe exahaust wasn't just rattling on the running boards. I...

Thank you. That is why I made it , instead of buying one. I dont think it really takes away from the lines at the front of the cab.

So, I got the yoke back from the machine shop, and it is perfect. Waiting on the drive shaft to be made now. So, for my next item on the to do list, I am planning on fabricating a roof visor for my truck. I cut some boomerang shaped steel plates and have those mounted where I need them using...

I took the original yoke from the 48 rear end, along with the yoke from the Jag. I ask my machine shop to cut the jag yoke just about where the lip seal, rides and then bore out the center to make a bushing. This bushing will press fit onto the original,Ford yoke. I will submit a photo of the...

Thanks guys. I believe if I have a bushing made to press fit over the stock yoke that I have , it should work. I could, just throw another $8-$9 hundred dollars at it, but I really think this will, work,if all the dimensions are correct.

Yeah, that rear end has the inboard disc brakes. Mine is an 89 XJ40 with outboard brakes. I called the guy in California , who is supposed to be a guru on Jags. He sells an aluminum plate that converts the 3 fingered juridical coupler yoke ,so that you can bolt a 4 bolt, ujoint plate onto it. He...

So we now have an issue. This rear end uses a Jurid rubber coupler. The rear end is not centered because the tranny is in the middle and the rear end is slightly offset. Never had any experience with these types of couplers. But I would assume that it would have to be dead straight or it would...

Wow, new front end done Well, after installing the new forged dropped front end from Speedway, we found it was about 6* off on caster. It was removed and sent back to them for refund. I contacted Sids Dropped Axles and shipped my axle to them. They received it one day , then call me the very...

Thanks guys,. Now I am redoing the interior of the truck. I am going to my local u pull yard to find a couple of bucket seats. Maybe something out of an ol Bronco, or mid 70's Chevy truck. I also plan on fabricating a center console, like I did in the Fairlane a few years ago.
