    The 69 Fairlane from Hell!

Well guys, I ran the 460 last night for quite a while. Varying RPM's from 2000-,then up to 2800, and everywhere in between. You could set a cup of coffee on the air cleaner it ran so smooth. We shut her down, and drained the oil immediately. Oil was crystal clear. Ok, maybe a little brownish...

    Tough thing to do today.

I spoke with the owner, and he was disappointed. But glad that I made a move up. I've been self employed my whole life until just a few years ago. So, some of this is very new to me. He told me that he appreciated all I had done for him and his corny and wished me well. I will be handling the...

    Tough thing to do today.

Well, I have to tell the guy I work that I'm giving him two weeks notice. I have worked for him for two years, and we have become good friends , with me also knowing where the friendship ends and employee begins. He's a good guy, and I love what I do. Small operation (mom and pop),and we rent...

Man gets run over by asphalt roller

A man here in Savannah stepped in front of an asphalt roller yesterday . He tripped and the operator did not see him. It ran over his entire body. The amazing thing is, that he lived. News said that family members were confused when hospital staff told them that they could see him, but that he...

I want to cleanup the appearance of this 351w

The 351 w also has a hard steel tube that connects to the rear of the heads near the fire wall. You can remove those tubes (smog related) , and lug the heads with either a freeze plug type plug, or tap and use something similar to an oil drain plug. That will clean up a lot of stuff right there...

Boom, and off went the oil filter

ZZ, it did pick up some of it on a magnet. Very tiny specs of really shiny silver specs also. When I bought this motor, it was on a stand bare metal, and completely rebuilt with new parts. I spoke to the machine shop that did the work, and to some folks who know them. They are pros,especially...

Boom, and off went the oil filter

Thanks for the info.well,I drained some oil out of the pan and found some very light metallic in my danged oil. I had the oil pan off and looked at the lobes on the cam, and there was no scratches or wear marks. But, when I dried the pan the oil looked like it had what looked like a ground up...

Boom, and off went the oil filter

Well, being the tight azz that I am, I bought the previous oil pump as NOS in the box, off of Feebay. So, I think that one is just a paper weight. When I received it , it looked as if it had never been mounted, and in the plastic . But, who knows . Gonna crank it back up tonight. I was also told...

Boom, and off went the oil filter

Took the oil pan off and found an o ring missing from the relief valve, and it was locked up. I replaced the oil pump ,cranked. It up, and had 75psi at 1700 rpm, and after it warmed up , I had 68 psi at 1700 rpm.
