I have burned out three regulators in the last 6 months. I have the field terminal hooked to switched ignition and the positive terminal to the battery. What am I doing wrong?

I read somewhere that the newer suspension is 1" wider. So, in theory it should require a 1/2" spacer and some new holes on each side.

It is a '47. We chopped it 4 inches by using a second cab for a donor roof. The frame was "c" notched about 12 inches in the rear so an S-10 axle could be hung on a home made triagulated 3 link (I got the 3/4" rod ends out of a dumpster at work. It cost me a total of $12 for jam nuts and 3/4"...

Just found this site from a link on killbillet.com. Just moved to Wahpeton ND (right on the MN border) I've been building rats most of my life. Usually because I can't afford to make 'em pretty. I'll try to post some pics of the suff I've built and what I got goin' on now.
