I got the back end of the bed widened out. Added 9 3/4". A couple of pics of my lack of progress, but it sure took a lot of time to do it. And this morning I have extra wide white walls.

Caddy frame is way stiffer than a pickup frame from that era. But the beds were bolted on solid, no body mount pucks. Probably not going to get enough miles really need to worry about it. :confused:

Some debate going on in building the "Bed" on Stumpy. One of my buddies thinks I shouldn't weld the framework to the car frame, but make it so it bolts on. He didn't have a very good reason to go through the extra work of making it bolt up other than "what if the next owner wants to change it?"...
