    The Stumpy Truck

Glad to be back on it. I want it out of my shop. Lol

    The Stumpy Truck

Second side was way easier. I just did the same as first side. it is off about 2 3/4" width from front to back. I'll have to cut down the center angle iron to finish mocking it up square. Now to figure out what to do for the Tailgate/end plate. I believe this was discussed earlier in this...

    The Stumpy Truck

My engine cover is going painfully slow, so a buddy came over and we worked on the bedsides. We got the passenger side on. Not welded but clamped pretty securely. And of course pics

    The Stumpy Truck

So I have an update picture. Like I said I've stressed since this truck cab was first cut to fit on the frame about how to cover the motor. Last night I spent several hours working on it with a buddy. Yes you can pull the cover with seats mocked in. I only tried the passenger side but it...

    Willys long cab

I haven't been on here much for the last year as I was ignoring my build. This thing looks like a cool @ss custom truck, the way it was. Now with modern drivetrain, it will be plain awesome. I'll follow along.

    The Stumpy Truck

11 months later and I'm back on this project. I did get a shifter mostly built. Then lost interest in it because of Corona shutdowns. It's been in my way in my shop along with the parts car. They were both mostly flat surfaces so junk has been piled on them continuously. Last week I did get...

    Snow white

Cool Caddy. I subscribed. Details of the second car you pulled out hooked to the back of the Caddy. You know the one with "no value".

    ‘52 Willys Pick Up

Good looking truck to start the project with. Keep posting the pics as you go.

    The Stumpy Truck

My buddy came by last night with a cable shifter out of a Jag he scrapped and some niceish leather seats from another car he scrapped. Nothing got done but some plans were made and beers consumed. Hopefully some more pics later of progress

    The Stumpy Truck

That's my 36 International. I had a thread on here last year as I was working on it. Not sure how to link my old thread from my phone. I moved the 79 T-Bird out to my other shed while I work on Stumpy. The 36 shouldn't matter much if I get grinder sparks or dust on it. Hence the tarp on the...

    The Stumpy Truck

I drove Stumpy for the first time last night. A piece of wire for s hand throttle, a pry bar duck taped to extend the shifter rod up so I could reach it, and the gas can held on the frame rail with a bungee cord. Brakes suck, steering box leaks badly, loose fuel line leaking, and me grinning...

    1940's International Crew Cab Diesel

Love the truck and the plan. (Sarcasm voice)But might have to make it a double size sleeper so the kids will still fit.(sarcasm voice off) Seriously though lots of cool fab work going here.

I just got caught up on this build. Lots of cool stuff going on here. Keep posting away and doing videos.

    Deal or no deal?

So you sidetracked into wheels but more importantly did you go get all the cool old iron so we can have better pics while it's on your trailer?

    The Stumpy Truck

Stumpy is on a 75 Caddy frame. The body is long gone but I kept the front sheet metal, hood, trunk and doors. Then a year ago I came across a 74 Eldorado. So of course I hauled it home. I put it in the shop last night to figure out what to do with the front end, radiator support, etc. Of course...

    The Stumpy Truck

I hadn't even thought of a fleetside bed gate cut down. I'm liking this option. Glad I posted on here for opinions. Thanks for the idea. Search is on for yellow GMC tailgate.

    The Stumpy Truck

I'm going to line up the running boards. Then make the bed sides hang off of framework out where they need to be. That is 5 inches wider than the tailgate based off of rough mock up measurements. Or so I think. I'm back at work for 5 days so not getting done this week

    The Stumpy Truck

Passenger side balancing on blocks for a picture. Looks like my tailgate will be 5" to narrow to fit. Anyone have any good methods to widen a tailgate.
