    what an I getting myself into ??? a replica T "speedster" ???

IRISH... thanks for the pics... MAC... thanks for the info on the chassis'... I was leaning towards the Ford, just so everything ( at least to start with ) would all be the same corp. ( I'm not a fan of Chevy motors in old Ford cars & the like ) I've heard there are more lowing options on the...

    what an I getting myself into ??? a replica T "speedster" ???

so I have a survivor condition 38 Nash, that I'd like to give a break for a year, & freshen the motor & tranny... The Studie Roadster in my build thread, is progressing very slowly ( I keep coming up with more & better ideas, & the body work gets more & more complex )... so I need something I...

carb falling apart with this modern gas... any help ???

Hmmm.... that's an option... do you think the fuel lubes would "really" do anything that the Sea Foam I'm already adding to my fuel to lube the top end, wouldn't do ??? mmmm...cherry & grape smelling exhaust [S

carb falling apart with this modern gas... any help ???

Thanks for the suggestions guys... this car is a cruiser, so I doubt I could afford air plane fuel as much as I like to drive it, besides, they didn't have premium in 1938, so the extra octane would be wasted on my like 7 to 1 compression "tractor motor"... I did find one local gas station that...

    Voltage quandry... need advice...

thanks for the positive comments & reply's guys... I'm still open for suggestions... I want to spend whatever I have to only once, so I want to be happy permanently, with whatever I decide... I haven't taken a picture of this side of the motor, since I rebuilt ( re-machined ) the water pump...

carb falling apart with this modern gas... any help ???

Carb suggestions... got a 1938 Nash in original condition... I'm trying to keep it "looking" original, but am not afraid to modify internals, if it still "looks" original for example, I was getting sick of the dripping packings & greasing the original water pump... so I had my machinist buddy...

    Voltage quandry... need advice...

thank you... I want to permanently keep the original engine, & Nash has some really quirky stuff that people like to look at, at the shows ( no intake or exhaust manifolds, they're built into the head, & the carb & exhaust bolt directly to the head, & the slave driven water pump ) I'm not afraid...

    Voltage quandry... need advice...

so 1st off, this is not really a "rat" more like a survivor, which I'd like to keep "looking" as original as practical... the car... 1938 Nash Lafayette trunk back sedan... ( I bought the car with 36,000 original miles ) since the car is so low, & I don't have a lift, & a previous owner had...

Is there a build thread on this?

WHOA !!! those look nice... I kinda got out of Jeeps after many years of 4 wheeling, & had been thinking of doing something like this with my 80 CJ-5 ( just cause I have so many mods that I could never get my money out of it... I have a CJ-2A that I got for my wife, that I've been thinking about...

Thinking about the next build, even though I'm still just starting my newest...

my frame is pretty twisted... I'd likely mock up a newer heavier frame

Thinking about the next build, even though I'm still just starting my newest...

My RPU project is burried in snow... but you guys are making me itchy to start picking up some parts for the speedster... gotta admit... those boat tails look pretty cool, & more finished than the T speedsters I posted pics of earlier

my last one was a Pioneer component system, had seperate amps & an EQ... but still had the 8 track "click" though...:D

    8 track

Beach Boys were at the local fair a couple years ago... I hadn't listened to that music for years... I was singing along, when I suddenly realized I knew where all the tape "clicks" were missing :o BTW... I always used match books for the spacer... those are even pretty rare these days...

    Smaller engine rat rods??

For me, the Studie RPU project gets a V-8... but I found that model T chassis, & it has me intrested... I may have to build a speedster... I'd think a modern 4 cylinder, 5 speed in a glorified go cart on taller wheels, should have plenty of push in the back [S

    Smaller engine rat rods??

I've been interested in some of the newer "higher power" 4 cylinders, but my understanding, is it's difficult to switch them over from transverse mount for a rear wheel drive application ??? so I've been looking at the older 2 valve Ford 2.3 liter motor... but really any of the newer pick up...

    Smaller engine rat rods??

already thinking about my next build, even though I'm barely into my current one... it'll be a 2.3 liter 4 cylinder & 5 speed... but no body so to speak... found a model T chassis in the scrap pile, & that got me thinking about building a 4 cylinder speedster... they typically had an engine...

    vintage tool/ equiptment thread

I have an old Machinst tool box I take to the shows with my Nash, I display as part of the show... top is filled with vintage hand tools, & small antique "what's it's" I have a model T / A period tire plug tool ( like 1919 patent ) that is supposed to use rubber bands... have heard it may have...
