    disc brake master cylinder question.

Thanks for all the replys. I talked with speedway tech again and they tell me that "back in the day" drum brake masters had check valves but their master cylinders, the one I used, do not have a check valve so I won't have the pressure buildup problem. But like Old Iron said I should keep an eye...

    disc brake master cylinder question.

:D I don't understand why that would happen, explain please!..... I put the iron one on being careful not to lose fluid or allow air into the system.."BAM" I got solid pedal now. Speedway will refund or replace wihichever I want, so that;s cool, think I'll ask for replacment.:D

    disc brake master cylinder question.

I know the stock answer but here goes anyway. Why can't I use a disc/drum master cylinder on a 4 wheel disc setup? My problem is I bought a speedway aluminum mastercylinder for 4 wheel discs, it won't bleed properly, can't get the air out, it just keeps makin bubbles. So I have a new 910-31425...

    starter for 1958 283

Chevy experts, my 283 engine has a casting number of 1958. The holes in the block are about a quarter in. closer than a 350 so an after market starter with 2 hole straight bolt pattern will not work. This block does have 3 holes for a staggered bolt pattern starter and a 350 starter will bolt up...

Retitle 1.5 ton to 1/2 ton ~ suggestions

!937 Fords didn't have a vin stamped on the frame. All early Ford vin were on the engine/bellhousing. Either it's not the vin or po stamped it there. Why do you want to change to a 1/2 ton. I think you are opening a box of trouble to try to do that, use the 1.5 ton title and drive it.

What Did Ya Get Done This Weekend?

Mounted the alternator on the A Bucket. Was going to mount it lower left but the belt hit the steering box, so mounted it high left and made an adjuster using heims, works good. Then worked on the Studebaker making patch panels to fill rust holes. Now must wait for the money tree to bloom again..[P

    rear disc brake run out.???

Yes,yes and yes. The hat is thin staped steel, maybe .062 but I think it should be at least .125. The caliper bracket is .250 and I think it should be at least .375. Don't think the axle flanges are the problem, the hats are bent. I may have done it but don't know how I could have. Guess my next...

    rear disc brake run out.???

Got a question about the runout on my rear disc brake rotor. This is a speedway weld on disc brake kit on my 9 in rear. The rotor wobbles [runout] about 1/8 inch. Is this acceptable or should I try to fix it. I loaded a video on my photobuket hme page and heres a link to it. Click on the video...

That's an 80+ year old frame, I would build a new frame. If you have the skills to patch the old frame, certainly you have the skills to build a new one!!:)
