Thanks Don...I kicked the ground a little and gave a few four letter words to the walls, but in the end it is what it is...happened for a reason. I can also use the other tank for something else....maybe an emergency fuel storage for hurricane season. I called and talked to Caswell and asked...

Rough estimate, but your rpm at 65 - 70 mph will be around 2300 - 2400 with the th350 with 3.08 gears and 28.5" tall tires. This assumes that your truck isn't very heavy. Other factors as well like rolling resistance, cam, etc, etc. I say stick with the th350...the 3.08 might not be enough...

    horsepower guesses for fun??

Not sure that the cam and heads will flow enough for the for 12 psi of boost. My guess would be around 450 - 500. -Troy

International L122 B Binder Rat Build

I would say stick with the th350 and maybe get some taller tires for the long trip...maybe pick up some used treads? Changing between a th350 to 700r4 for one trip just doesn't make sense to me. Just my $.02. Are you guys going to Bonneville this year? Or 2013? I'll be driving out this year...

Round Two...Ding, Ding! Ok...second tank is done. Test fitted and all is good. The sealer worked just as well the second time a round. I know the pictures are a bit repetitious, but I promise to have more progress pictures up soon. I'll be breaking things down this coming week to get the...

I have some sheet metal work / body work to do then I'm going to paint it. More than likely a flat/satin deep red...like Buick Red. Still not 100% on it...might do two tone with black and deep red. I'm going to attempt to drill out the oil filler hole myself...did you have any issues with it...

Ty, What did you use to drill out the oil filler tube? I've got to do the same thing and I would normally take it to the machine shop for that. Thanks, -Troy

I got the new tank welded together. Still waiting on my second round of gas tank sealer. Speaking of, I thought I'd give a little review of the brand that I'm using. It's made by Caswell and it's a two part epoxy. This stuff seals pin holes and cracks. The working time before it starts to...

    best transmission

For a guy that loves Fords shouldn't you be talking about a 351 and a C6 transmission? :D As for your transmission and rear gear question it really depends on what tires you run, the cam and stall speed. 700r4, TH350 or TH400 and a 3:50 - 3:73 gears will work with a basic stock setup on the...

CORPO, Ty and Rodney, Thanks for the props! I'm really liking the headers. I ordered up some flanges to weld on. They are going to work out very well. Unfortunately I suffered a big set back with the fuel cell. I finished welding it up and got the sealer in it...even pressure tested it...

Haven't tried them yet. Still getting use to using it. I think I'm going to hook up some kind of electric drive with a foot pedal and give them a try after that. I think it would be impossible to do without a second pair of hands. -Troy
