    Nice Folks in Hot Rodding

When I was younger, my favorite part about looking at cool cars was watching them drvie down the road. It still makes me smile when I see them driving.

    Scenes from the dashboard

It's good to see that $4 or more/gallon for gas isn't keeping you guys from enjoying your cars. And thanks for the pics, they really are worth a thousand words! That is why this country is so great..you can go out on a Sunday drive anywhere and see a picturesque landscape like that.

    Everyone Check This Out!!

Right now I'm just doing little things to make it pass state inspection. Eventually I want to lower it by cutting the front springs and removing some leaves from the rear. I can get a set of steel wheels (16x7) for $50, and I'm hoping that some 700-16 whitewalls will fit (I'm not sure if the...

    Everyone Check This Out!!

I finally got my own rat truck project yesterday! I found it on Craigslist about 50-60 miles away from my place. My friend took me out there and I drove it home, with only one issue that came up. About 20 minutes after we left for home a dry rotted tire decided to finally blow out. Luckily...

    discovering rods in your neighborhood?

I used to run around and play with one my best friends back in the day on his grandpas farm, and there was and still is a Model T sitting right out in the open. We probably even played on it. I never payed any attention to it until recently.

Would it be in bad taste??

I think fastchevy49 is on to something. Those things are ridiculous, I really don't even understand what they are supposed to represent. Whenever I see them it distracts away from the vehicle it is in front of.

Rat Rods and Hot Rods of the future?

Years from now what vehicles are going to be the rods that are being built in home garages and cruising around town? The cool cars that are being used today are not going to be around forever. I know that trends change with time but it seems that we are all following the rodding traditions...

    Started the chop today!!!!!!!!

Hey man, it looks great so far! The powdered iron sounds like a good idea. An easy place to find that would be shavings/dust from cutting rotors. I'm not a painter but maybe you would be able to mix some fine dust with some clear or something and spray on the top. Or maybe you could spray it...

    wires....solvents???

I would go with brake clean. If you're afraid of hurting any finishes in the surrounding area, then you could spray it on a rag and ipe the wires.

    low down 55 progress

Chop it and it would cool. Leave it like it is, it would still be cool. Nice work!

Will rodded 4-bangers & 6-bangers really save gas?

I think a four or six would be cool in a pre-war car/ truck. The size of the post-war cars would make the usual lack of torque a smaller motor has (compared to V-8's) make for a slow and boring ride. You should check out the article in the April 2008 issue of Hot Rod magazine about an Ecotec...
