That other forum does it again

They definitely don't like us! Personally, I think they should've left the site alone! It's just too busy now. Kinda confusing. But, what do I know? I still have a cell phone that if I wanna text the letter 'C' I have to push the #2 three times! I guess I'm just ol' skool! [cl

    merkur 4 cylinder turbo

You may have already seen this as I've posted it before. My loaded 2.3T is about to go into the roadster. The frame and suspension are built and it's almost up on 4 wheels. Coming along slowly.

    merkur 4 cylinder turbo

Well, the motor is the same as the SVO Mustang. The T3 turbo has a slightly smaller A/R rating than the SVO or early TC but shouldn't make a noticeable difference. IMO, much better than the IHI that came on the '87-'88 TC's. The Merkur auto won't hold up to much abuse. Your best bet would be...

New guy from the SF Bay Area

Welcome to triple R! You're in my neck of the woods. What city are you in? Luv the sportcoupe! Question: What size are those front tires? I'm trying to decide if I wanna go tall or low profile on my fronts. I like the looks of yours!

    Cardboard for templates

I use manilla file folders. $6.99 at Wal-Mart will get you a box of 100. Probably enough to do several complete projects!

What to rough up the primer with on my steel wheels?

I'm about to paint my steel wheels red with Krylon rattle cans. I blasted them and then primed 'em with Krylon red primer spray paint. I want the color coat to stick. Should I sand them with dry 320 grit then get in the cracks and crevices with a red 3M pad or should I wet sand them with...

    HF pressure sandblaster modification

I finally got around to modding my HF 90lb pressure sandblaster. I got tired of blasting for 2 minutes then spending 30 minutes unclogging everything! I wound up replacing the feed assembly and modding the nozzle too. A few $$ in hardware store parts and a Saturday afternoon later and this...

Quick & dirty (and cheap) frame rotisserie.

Sorry for the late response, I've been out of the country for a couple of weeks. It would probably be better to have bolted the structures to the frame. In fact, I'm gonna do just that this weekend! My frame is already off the rotiserrie and I'm mocking up the roadster as we speak. However...

    License Plates for Sun Visors

I like the idea! Really......how hard would it be to adapt the flipdown mechanism from a late model car to the plates? Not hard at all.

    newbie suspension questions

Yes, you can weld to your rearend but you need to be careful! You'll need a lot of heat for 3/8" plate but the axle tubes are pretty thin. Warpage is a big concern. When I welded up mine I clamped the crap outta the rearend to my frame table. I welded about an inch at a time and after every...

    ta front clip

Here's a tip. Proof read before you post! As far as cost, check out www.rockauto.com You can get exact prices (and good ones at that) for each piece then add it all up. From what I could decipher, a narrowed 9" attached with a 4-link, a Caddy 500 w/auto and some wide rally wheels........yeah...

    newbie suspension questions

zzrodder's post makes alot of sense. However, if you're looking for dirt cheap, how about a pair (or maybe 2 pair, depends on the weight) of coilovers off a Jag XJ6? I think the spring rate is around 450 psi. $20 each at the junkyard. All you need is a crossmember to mount the top end and...

    Help Identifying Rear End

That looks like an 8" rear. About the same as mine ('75 Maverick) the only difference I see is the vent hole on mine is closer to the drivers side spring perch. It is 5-lug, isn't it? If your getting it from a guy who builds Mustangs, guess what. It's probably out of a '70's Mustang. They...

Buying a welder on a budget

Outstanding! I'm sure you'll be very happy with it! It'll be good to get your welding back up to speed on it. I'll bet dollars to doughnuts after you're through your 1st roll of fluxcore wire you'll decide to go gas. The Lincoln is a quality piece and you got a pretty good deal. First...

Buying a welder on a budget

Everything coostv said^^^! The only difference for me is I use a big spool of .035 and keep a small spool of .023. I tend to weld thicker steel as opposed to sheetmetal. Also, I do very little welding outside. Most is done in the shop. IMHO, gas is the only way too go!

Buying a welder on a budget

OK........the Miller would be fine. You'd need to open it up and look it over real good. Is it filthy dirty inside? Has it been taken care of? You should be able to tell. Run a couple of beads to make sure everything works. If you're not proficient at welding, tell the owner that and ask...

Buying a welder on a budget

I just used the chart that's on the inside door of my welder. It called for 2 (on a scale of 6) for the voltage and a 36 for wirefeed speed. For welding 18 ga sheetmetal I use a spool of .023 wire. I did quite a few patch panels this way. For my frame, brackets and such (which is steel...
