Welcome to RRR, from a former Islander from N. Massapequa. The car scene on the Island has always been pretty solid. I'm sure there are a few rats out there. We just seem to be in the minority most places.
At one time I knew why it was done that way but, I've long forgotten & my grandfather is long gone. He built midget engines in the 40's & I remember seeing old pics of flatties installed in this manner.
Spent the weekend loading up stuff, to include momma's 47 Chevy & driving the 8hrs to new home. Movers unloaded Monday turning new house into a sea of boxes. Drove 8hrs back to the Bluegrass to pack up more stuff, including my 47 Plymouth & back to Sweet home Alabama Sat. morning.
Welcome from E-Town & Salem, Al. (long story). Wife's got a 47 w/ original frame except the MII front end. So much easier that way IMHO. Looking forward to your build thread.
Welcome from Salem. You can attatch those pics from your computer. Just go to browse when you hit the attach. You can then load them from your own computer.
I think your a little too much a perfectionist on the wiring, bob. Looks Ok as is. I do like the valve mod, tho. :D
As for me, it's been the same thing as most weekends for the past few months. Working to sell house here in KY to move to AL in July.
Nice progress on your AD-kota, Todd. A very different build. Not a fan of the S10 AD conversion but, this has been fun to follow.
Oh,,,the flange to flange on an AD is 60". Looking forward to more updates. [P
Looks like either a 49 or 50. Door glass is one piece, crotch cooler vent, pull down door handles. Those went away in 51. Prior to 49 the gas tank was under the bed. 49 was 1st year for it being in the cab. Hope this helps you out a bit.
