    Close call

I went to check on some other property we own the other day, first time I’d been there in a month. Going up the driveway, a 1/8 mile up to the old house, I noticed power lines drooping to the ground. Got to the house and found out why….a giant limb on a pecan tree had broken off and took out the...

    Covid

I think it’s more like the flu now. Most folks around here that have had it recently were sick about three days and that was it. Since it’s from the same family of virus as the flu and the common cold, it’s not surprising. Also not surprising it’s still around. Probably always will be in varying...

    Wife wagon!

That grill is the high dollar part, hard to find a good one. One thing about the Dodge is it has more legroom than a Ford due to the thicker cowl. Wish I had of held on to the one I had.

My 40 Dodge Truck Build - Maybe a 41 LOL

Sounds like a plan. You could put your idler pulley on something like a turnbuckle to put outward pressure on the belt. It will be just the same as having a ps or ac pulley in that spot. Nothing wrong with taking time out to think through a problem. It will save hours of frustration later on if...

My 40 Dodge Truck Build - Maybe a 41 LOL

You wouldn’t want to double back a V belt over an idler like your pic. Serpentine, yes, V belt, no. I know some lawn equipment does use idlers and pulley configurations that put pulleys on the flat part of a V belt, but they use belts made to work that way, regular automotive belts won’t last...

    Wife wagon!

Your wife sounds like mine, not a fan of wagons but loves post war tudors! Lincoln door push buttons from 46-48 cars are a traditional custom touch. They look good low in the front with the back a tick higher to give it a little forward rake. Watching this one ![P[P[P

    Thoughts on Rebuilding

If you really like it, why not rebuild it? It’s old enough you should be able to find a parts truck with a bad motor or trans pretty easily enough. I’ve got the same thoughts about my 99 F150, unless something catastrophic happens I plan on keeping it because I don’t want to have to find a...

My 40 Dodge Truck Build - Maybe a 41 LOL

I knew a guy who tried that Evans stuff, he loved it until he hated it after blowing a hose. Didn't have any to replace what he lost, had to drain it all out, flush it, then put regular antifreeze in. Cost him a pretty penny. I just use regular green Prestone or WalMart brand, whichever is...

    Air Bag

Hummmm, I don’t think that came out right. I’m gonna blame it on autocorrect, lol! What I was trying to say was to space them out, leaning closer in at the top. Maybe this stupid technology won’t put words in my mouth this time!:D

    Air Bag

Couple of cab air bags off a Peterbilt might be about right. They are short and small in diameter. You could spay them a little and reduce the height as well as keep it from trying to lift just one side.

    Happy Thanksgiving!

I got a jump start on tomorrow today….smoked two turkey breasts and a small ham. Just have to stick them in the oven for a few minutes tomorrow and then enjoy! Safe and happy Thanksgiving to you guys![cl

    Air Bag

That’s thinking outside the box! As long as it was hidden by the grille, it might work. Would look kinda goofy on a car where it could be seen.

    1959 GMC Fleetside

The thick pillar is what throws it off. If you extend the door that same amount and keep the narrow B pillar, it will look like the top has been chopped a bit due to the longer window. Or extend both the door and widen the pillar the same amount. Just my two cents,:rolleyes:might not be worth...

    1959 GMC Fleetside

I prefer the 55-57 single headlight versions, but have seen a few sharp 4 light models. SWB looks best, I like just a little more behind the wheel and a slightly longer section between the wheel and cab. Tires centered in the wheel wells. I remember seeing one that they only shortened behind...

    Too Little Gas?

Glad you got it started. My latest Vette was like that, it has two injectors, one wouldn’t work, so I replaced both figuring as old as they were they could be bad. Nope, still couldn’t get one to work unless I swapped the wires. After I finally got a decent fuse block diagram that was labeled...
