    1955 Ranch Wagon Cruiser

This car has 20 mounts, more than half of which just got covered by pad and carpet. However, it does seem like the front mount is the one that would most control the height of the door. I'll have to check that out.

    1955 Ranch Wagon Cruiser

Good point. Not sure before, but definitely after. I raised the rear driver's side. I think that's the cause. That makes more sense than the post or the door bending when the door is closed. Now that I think about it, I had the same issue when it was sitting on jack stands. Thanks. The 5.3 is...

    1955 Ranch Wagon Cruiser

Here's some photos: I'm having problems with the driver's side door. The wind lace and door panel made it difficult to close at first; now it won't latch at all. It has sagged about 1/4" for some reason and I'm working through trying to find the cause and a solution. And the top window...

Thanks Mac and Dutch. I'll see about getting some pics of the whole car today. Interesting development with the suspension. From the rear the driver's side looked low. I tightened the coil over to raise that side until the frame measured the same on both sides - about 3/16". That tightened...

Thanks, I didn't know that, but it makes sense. I have the stock spindles on now. The front is a little high for my taste, so I have been considering dropped spindles. Want to check clearance first. I ordered Bilstein B6 shocks, today. The only real issue I have with the front suspension...

    1955 Ranch Wagon Cruiser

Thanks guys. I think this is going to be my daily driver - it's the most fun, easiest to drive vehicle I have. This is the first custom interior I have had done. It's pretty nice and it's quiet, except for the 9" whine. Might have replace the ring and pinion. I really can't say enough about...

    1955 Ranch Wagon Cruiser

Glove box door. The glove box latch I have turns out to be for a '56 (big change in the dash for '56). It's bolted in from the inside before the dash was installed and it would be a bear to change out. I ended up making a new strike (the old one is on the left). It could hold the door a...

Upholstery Here's what it looks like. Light, fun, a little '50's - hard to keep clean. I left the extra carpet on the floor in the pic- oops. I'm not overly fond of the door arm rest/pull. I'll work with them sometime. I have the sun visors, but I like the look without them.

    1955 Ranch Wagon Cruiser

Thanks Torchie That is a problem that has been bothering me. I don't get off on washing, waxing, polishing or dusting. Everything else I have done is satin. The 3100 has been on the road since '07; I have washed it 3 or 4 times. Well, I'm going to drive the Wagon even if it's not clean and...

Hydramat: here's a link: https://www.summitracing.com/search/product-line/holley-hydramat-fuel-pickups?SortBy=DisplayPrice&SortOrder=Ascending&tw=hydramat&sw=Holley%20Hydramat%20Fuel%20Pickups The videos looks good, but how long do they last? Will the smallest one ($125) work? or do I need to...

    1955 Ranch Wagon Cruiser

The Hydromat is pricey and the problem is knowing the size that will do the job. Cost is $130 for the smallest to over $250 for bigger ones. I have a SS tray built similar to the ones Tanks Inc. makes. But the easiest, cheapest way will be to keep the tank over 1/2 full. That's probably what...

update Here's what the interior looks like. The seats should be done tomorrow and it should be out of the shop Thursday or Friday. I'll be excited to get it back.

    1952 F-6 Build

I think it's normal to want to see what happens to our creations. And aren't we always expected to provide lifetime warranty or at least a lifetime of repair answers? It is curious that it hasn't stuck anywhere.

I do have a scanner and an OBDII port and no I haven't plugged it in, yet. Hey, I was amazed it even ran. The plan is to get it dyno tuned at some point- I have heard that tuning is different for a manual. In the mean time, it runs and sounds good, so I'm happy.

    1955 Ranch Wagon Cruiser

I just spent 3 days adding a belt tensioner to the 3100 so the belt wouldn't squeal with the AC on. I had forgotten I had to replace the one on the 5.3 - it only took about 15 minutes. I am pretty sure it isn't in limp mode - it runs really well. Getting the check engine light working is...

    1955 Ranch Wagon Cruiser

tail gate support I the last time 8literbeater came by, he pointed out that the brackets I had supporting the tailgate were flexing. I was already being careful not to put too much weight on the tailgate because of my home made cables. So with it going to upholstery, I decided I better make...

International L122 B Binder Rat Build

Thanks for showing the glass. It's got to be a good feeling knowing that is done and that you don't have to find another couple windshields.

    '47 Dodge shop truck

Went back a few pages looking for the converter info - couldn't find anything. This is completely off my radar, I don't remember hearing of anyone modifying a converter. Why did you cut it apart and what happens next? Good luck on the root canal.

Lil Tin Bucket - golf cart #3

Not sure, but I think it would be pretty easy to make it sound like a modern car - like a Tesla or a Bolt.
