I understand what you're saying. Sometimes there's just not enough hours in the day. And it's great to be able to say "Yeah. I built it myself" but sometimes you just have to back up, regroup and ask yourself "Do i want to spend the next year (or years) trying to find the time to build this...

My vote goes for the '53. All the hard, expensive work is done. That thing would make a great driver.

chance to trade for a 40 ford

You read my mind. I love the '67 through '72 Chevy trucks and have owned several. But nothing says bad ass like a '40 Ford.

    Headlight relay.

I need to install a headlight relay in my T-Bucket (the original builder didn't install one). The only thing i know about electricity is if i touch the wrong thing it can really hurt and if it ain't done right it can make a really pretty fire. Do i need two relays (one for low beam, one for...

Supreme Court rules in favor of gun rights!

Shouldn't the vote have 9-0 instead of 5-4? But we are making some progress. DC vs Heller: http://www.oyez.org/cases/2000-2009/2007/2007_07_290

Could someone photo shop my '56

In solid flat black and solid flat gray? I can't decide if i want it black primer with red & white interior or gray primer with blue & white interior (actually flat paint to look like primer). I know the paint looks good in the pics but it's really a 20 footer. The po used cheap paint and did...

One to many burn outs...new differential time.

I decided to go with 3:36's. I ordered a rebuilt diff from these guys: http://www.duntovmot...http://www.duntovmotors.com/differentials-63-79.php

One to many burn outs...new differential time.

I had thought about 3:08's but i really don't want to compromise the bottom end that much. With the 3:70's i don't have get that deep into the excelerator. Without an overdrive any way i go will be a compromise. It's just figuring out which is the best compromise. Right now i'm really leaning...

Thanks for the link. The more i play with the calculator the more i'm liking the 3:36's.

One to many burn outs...new differential time.

I knew the Corvette (1965) rear end in my T-Bucket was going to need some attention real soon. You know that nasty posi SNAP!POP!BANG! routine. Plus the axles are fairly worn. So i decided to just buy a rebuilt differential. According to the axle ratio code stamping it has 3:70 gears. I think...

Not sure exactly but it's either a '38 or '39.

Decided to make it a drive the T-Bucket to work week.

I just got back from a short cruise and got a thumbs up from a deputy sheriff.

Uhhhh....there's a car in those pictures?
  16. LarryH

    They were wrong !!

Absolutely. For every nice shiney, upholstered car running around you would see a dozen that were either primed or primer spotted and had less than show quality upholstery. But they were always in good mechanical condition. My dad and his friends called them jalopies (late 50's/early 60's) ...

    AC in your Rats

This valley used to be desert. 100+ temps aren't unusual in the summer time. So yeah, my '56 will have AC.

Decided to make it a drive the T-Bucket to work week.

Well i almost made it all week. The home made shifter linkage broke Friday night so i didn't get to drive it to work Saturday. On the way home from work Friday night (actually Saturday morning about 12:30) i'm sitting at a traffic light and i hear a "How are you doing tonight?" and look over to...
