When you build them five at a time like he does, you don't have much time for lollygagging.

    Pattys 50 Ford

Original compression ratio would have been around 7 to 1. Propane likes high compression and forced induction. It runs about 110 octane. A typical gas engine loses about 20% of its power (and mileage) going to LP unless it has higher compression. I just saw an old comet last weekend with a...

In the week before the show, I spent some time trying to get an ugly layer of paint off the bottom of the doors and back of the cab. One side came out pretty good, and the driver's side just sort of looks different than before.

Thanks everybody! They also gave me a $25 gift card to a steakhouse. It was pretty cool. I have some pictures from the show, on my camera. I'll get them posted soon.

It would probably run just fine, but gasoline takes more maintenance. You'd probably notice better power with gas over LP, unless the engine was built for LP.

What is this "hood" thing you speak of? :D Usually I just jam screwdrivers and punches into the coils to stretch them out enough to fit. If you had to stretch them 2 inches to fit, they must stretch a long way when the hood is closed.

    Shipping woes with my project

I just bought some binoculars online. They were shipped by UPS. The box was marked fragile, and when I got it, it was totally spotless. The corners were square and there was not a single mark on the box.

That's awesome. You had your model A on TV too. You're a star in a jar. I went straight to the grocery store to buy the magazine, but they didn't have it. Maybe tomorrow.

    Cheap grinding disc warning

To all of my good friends on RRR. Do not cheap out on grinding wheels and cut-off wheels. Please. The edge of a 4.5" grinding or cut-off disc is moving at 147 miles per hour at free speed. (11,000 rpm) Under load, it's about 130 mph. The edge of a 9" wheel at free speed (6,600 rpm) is moving...

I ran her across a scale again. Same as before, I topped off with fuel, and drove one mile to the scale. She gained 190 pounds with this axle swap. It now weighs 3,540 pounds. That's okay, I don't mind a few extra pounds in a rear end. Also, this happened. There's still a couple changes I...
