    I just did a quick search. Ford 300 straight sixes had power steering in E 250 and E350 vans as late as the 90s. Maybe you could scrounge parts from one of those.

    A little repair to the grill. The crank hole was beaten out of shape. I tigged two new pieces. Not perfect but way better than before.

    There is nothing wrong with taking your time with a build. It gives you more time to find info, Imagineer and scrounge parts cheap.

    I have a problem with the term traditional hot rod. Traditionally hot rods were built using new and better parts than available when a vehicle was new. I feel they were always a progression.     I got the radiator support and grill mocked up. The support mounts to the cross member at the bottom. The grill mounts to the sides of the support and the rods that run from the fire wall to the grill set the position of the top of the grill from the firewall. The gaps for the hood sides are ok...

    I decided it was going to be easier to work on the radiator support and grill mounting with the engine removed. I got strange looks and laughed at when I built the mounts so that it could be dropped out the bottom. It worked better than I expected
