Ford 300 Six into a 46 Ford Sedan

Does anyone here have a flat head inline six cylinder Ford engine laying around they could measure for me? I am trying to figure if I can easily stuff a 1977 Ford 300 six cylinder into a 46 Ford two door sedan. I know that some of these cars came with inline sixes originally and I am wondering...

    I am looking for...

a kit to mount a rear axle under a 1946 Ford car. The original axle is long gone and I have a 9 inch from a late 50's car that is under it currently(its just sitting there and not bolted up). Since the wheels and eveything fit inside the fenders and it is the right width and all, is there a...

    Air bag rear spring helpers

I would like to beef up the rear suspension in my 59 Galaxie and use it for pulling a vintage camper. However after having the car out of the garage, yes it fired right up in the below zero weather, I was impressed, I am finding the rear suspension just cannot handle the tongue weight of the...

    Tires Sizes

Hi All, I recently picked up a brand new set of chrome reverse wheels at a swap meet. The front wheels are 15x6 and the rears are 15x8. What sizes are tires will fit these wheels? I cannot go too wide on the rear as there are fender clearance issues. Any help is appreciated.

leaf spring under to leaf spring over axle swap

Hi All, I am asking this one for a friend of mine. We are working on lifting his 4x4 truck. The current rear axle has the leaf springs running under the axle. Besides the obvious of moving the spring plates on the axle itself, what else is needed to make this job work?

need to raise the ride height...

Hi Gang, I need to raise the ride height on my 59 Ford Custom for about a day or so. I just got done with a major front end overhaul and took it in for an alignment. The shop cannot do it because the car sits too low(is that possible?) in the rear for their equipment to attach to the wheels...

look at what the rat drug in....

Hi Guys and Gals, I was out and about this morning cleaning up some "old junk" along a fence line and this is what I found. The last pic is of the rat rod fairlane as that is what I was using to play around in the hay field with this morning.:D

    rear leaf spring question

I need to beef up the load carrying capacity of my 59 fairlane four door, see pics elsewhere on this forum. The leaf springs run under the axle and I believe the springs are a reverse arch. I have a pile of leaf springs removed from another 59 ford car. Can I simply add some of these springs...

    59 fairlane before and after

Some before and after pics of my fairlane. I removed the front bumper and painted the area behind it flat black. The bumper will be staying off the car as I like the way it looks.

    lowering a 47 ford coupe

Hi All, I am in need of advice as to the safest and least expensive way to lower the front end of my 47 ford coupe(I know, get some pics of it, I am working on it). I have a couple of non rolling parts cars and can tear them down without having to put them back together for practice. My...

a trio of 59 ford cars, enjoy

The orange and black four door is a fairlane 500 with a transplanted 352 and an automatic trans. Yes I do work the p*ss out of it hauling busted rice burners to the crusher for cash. Future plans call for a flat black paint job and the front bumper will find itself laying in the spare parts...
